The Revolution is about to triumph.

Independents like fbaezer and d'artagnan among others; other candidates like msolga, Ticomaya, Dagmaraka and Eva have contributed heavily to the uprising, you have said you join but not participated actively in the overthrow of the corrupt, yet ephimeral tyrant (right now his lackey Lord Ellpus is trying to fit an Aston Martin into the fleeing chopper), your middleman nimh (or "wimph", as I now think of him) has been wavering.

I want a Site Unity cabinet. I am ready to go back to my island (perhaps with a couple of Kicky's "interns") and just be Citizen Scrat. Your party gathered enough votes to make it very important that you become part of a collective government (headed by a troika), in which nimh is vetoed by the beauty allies. The troika would include: an independent revolutionary læknirist, a chosen member of the Love and Beauty party and you. Ticomaya will head the Revolutionary Army.

I am being bold by making this proposal, since I have not discussed it with my allies. Take it as a sign of good will.

The Revolution is indeed about to triumph.

I cannot accept any proposal that does not include a prime position for my talented and unwaveringly loyal campaign manager. Perhaps Secretary of State?

In truth, I would not be opposed to being Citizen Sozobe if it meant that he who has done so much for the success of the party be sufficiently rewarded -- nimh may take my place at the troika if he so desires. (That also frees me up for my campaign to free boobies.)

If that were the case, a troika of nimh, dagmaraka, and a chosen læknirist would seem to be just. I was going to suggest Smog, but he seems to have been corrupted by His Scrotumness, Kickyscam.

Wavering? You f*cking threw me out! I was aghast, no, devastated! You stabbed me in the effing back!

Lets recap, shall we? Here I come into the revolution, at Tue May 10, 2005 8:07 pm Hungarian time, joining it with flourish, flair and lots of clever little references. Out with Kicky! In with the real choice of the people, Sozobe! Power to the people! Soz joins within an hour. Dag welcomes me.

But then, exactly 24 hours later, Eva finally decides to join the revolution too, but comes in with a demand first - my head:

Eva wrote:
I cannot believe you are still serious about recruiting this guy. He's still playing Don Quixote, saddling up his tired old mule to tilt at windmills. He doesn't even realize the "election" is over and refuses to accept the reality that his side lost. <Sigh> At best, he would only be a loose cannon on our side should he decide to join us.

Note: she wants us to concede we lost - to Kicky, the very tyrant she purports to be revolting against! It doesnt even make any sense! Any chance to pile on me, I suppose. But what'cha do?

You sell me out, without a doubt - within minutes!

Læknir Scrat wrote:
Eva, good for you. And for us!

As for nimh, I am sorry to admit you were right. I stated on another thread:

Læknir Scrat wrote:
Oh, nimh, you wimp! You dissapoint me!

The whole election process was rotten.
The supposed landslide of Kickycan was only the cherry on top of the rotten cake.
A coalition government must be built after the overthrow. Sozobe would and will be an important part of it.

Now I know I really can't trust blue-haired intellectuals!
Now I know why panicky campaign managers can ruin a good candidate!

I know Sozobe is gutsy, willing to fight and will discard the anchor that precludes her from sailing into the fields of the Vikings (the open sea of justice and victory).

Geez. Not having seen that yet, here I was even trying to constructively think along about how to tackle the post-Kickyist era. What I had in mind was a coalition government with the election's runner up, Sozobe, as PM and Laeknir and the election result's number three, Frank Apisa, as deputy PMs - the only task of which should be the organisation of clean, new elections.

Reasonable enough, no? I mean, Soz and Frank are actually the ones who got the most votes and stuff.

But no, I dig into the revolution thread and see you've already cussed me out, threw me out of the very revolution I just joined! Worse, you sold out on me purely so as to appease Eva, so she would join - yes, Eva-who-got-in-fourth, but had kindly demanded my head as the price for her participation (and went to piss on my long-wrought post of clever little revolutionary references for good measure).

Nice.

And now you gonna moan behind my back here about how I've been wavering?

Laeknir, I gotta say I too much enjoyed this game of virtual politics. Better than Risk, like Fbaezer said. Lots of devious creativity - and actually a bit of an instructive test lab, in terms of seeing how the dynamics just kinda push themselves. Plus, I got to look up trivia *my own and yours).

But frankly, you were an ass - and at the worst possible moment. Like Kicky, I had really come to start taking things personally - Eva's nimh-bashing was actually getting to me. But I thought, at least Laeknir's smart - he handles it all deftly. Not.

A curse on your nuts.

Geez, Nimh! Don't take it so hard!

You actually started dissing me WAAAAAY before I started returning the fire. Go reread the threads. Then apologize and I'll buy you a drink over at the Wine Cellar. I won't hold a grudge if you don't.

The thing is, Scrat is wise enough to know you can't make a working coalition out of people who have demonstrated an inability/unwillingness to work with others. The Love & Beauty people (Cut it out! Get the party name straight, will you?!) demonstrated early on that we could work together well, were inclusive, and were willing to be flexible. Frank made it plain he didn't like anybody and had no desire to be a team player. You demonstrated inflexibility and a repeated desire to put down the opposition even when the battle was over (VERY annoying!) Your outstanding loyalty was the only thing that saved you, and for that Scrat agreed to include you. I suggest you apologize to all of us that you have maligned and begin behaving more cooperatively. You're a very bright guy and you have a great sense of humor. You have much to contribute, and I hope you will (finally) agree to work with us.

Remember, we're the good guys.

I propose you know nothing about why Scrat did what, and are just using your powers of "interpretation" here to get in a few last barbed, haughty insults at me. How typical.

As far as I care, you and Laeknir (but Laeknir only just today) have been the only bad guys in the whole damned glorious circus of it all.

I'm gonna go out for a pint (ok, tea) as well now.

Thanks for sticking up for me tho, Soz, when Laeknir started the whole "ignore the "whimp" middleman" stuff. Appreciate it.

Absolutely right Mr K.........The so called "rebels" (a rat, a couple of witches and Arnie) should either put up the cast iron evidence....or shut up and pay their $200 per month subscriptions like the other 320,000 already have.

By the way, the car arrived today......decided on a Roller in the end, too much waiting time on the Aston Martin.

What do you think?

Hello, good sirs, with whom I am not acquainted.

I heard there was a revolution going on, and dropped by that I might take up a position of influence within you group.

For I myself am much displeased with the current system.

Who is in charge around here?

Welcome, Mr SCoates, whom I don't know.

References say you are an experienced elections organizer.

I believe there's a position waiting for you, as head of the Supreme Court.

The Revolution wants legal elections, or maybe a nice referendum  It wants the Will of the People to determine how long should the ruling troika stay in power.

As a simple citizen I would like the troika to rule for the next 5 years, with the possibility to be re-elected, of course.

You can organize that, I am sure. A hefty salary and a second hand, kind of wrecked Aston Martin are waiting for you.

Sincerely yours.

Citizen Scrat

While I am an experienced election organizer, I naturally had no hand nor mention in the previous A2K election, as I look nothing like anyone involved.

I will take as much authority and command as you wish, that I may progress this glorious revolution.

Somehow the disguise makes you look more, not less, obscene.

The hint of the trenchcoat, or something.

Sorry, dlowan, but I checked it against my own equipment, and I must say, that is definitely, without question, the head of a rather large mushroom sprinkler.
