Gawd, now we know that Scoates is honorable, and should have full control over the rebel forces.

Scrat, I feel unworthy, but I will serve the rebellion... what it deserves.

People of A2K:

Let's gather on one single thread to make Kickyscam run for his life.

The Revolution will take place (or not) on THIS thread:

First, you must get rid of Nimh. He is still campaigning for Sozobe, despite the fact that they lost the election. I don't believe they ever conceded, in fact.

Nope, and neither we will! Err, OK, neither I will (sorry, I forgot my Sozophone).

I mean, it's simple.

Either Kickycan got in through fraud, and then the rightful winner is Sozobe, who came in second.

Or Kickycan did not get in through fraud, and then we might as well cancel this whole revolution thing.

Right?

Oh, nimh, you wimp! You dissapoint me!

The whole election process was rotten.
The supposed landslide of Kickycan was only the cherry on top of the rotten cake.
A coalition government must be built after the overthrow. Sozobe would and will be an important part of it.

Now I know I really can't trust blue-haired intellectuals!
Now I know why panicky campaign managers can ruin a good candidate!

I'm merely being consistent.

Note my avatar. The Ukrainian elections were flawed from the beginning, with state media channeling the take of the powers-that-be and independent journalists and activists harassed and oppressed. Yet Yushchenko won anyway. The fraud that took place in the 'counting' of votes that had Yanukovych announced as the victor was so blatant that people took to the streets to rebel. Revolution! Now, do you propose that instead of Yushchenko being appointed President, after all, once the street protests were succesful, the whole rotten process of it should have been rejected from start to end and .. what, instead?

No. The Bolshy take you are suggesting, of rejecting the entire system from start to end - the very elections themselves - and repudiating fraudulent winner (Kicky) and defrauded people's choice (Sozobe) alike as if there's no essential difference, is immoral and would lead to tears - as it did before.

Elections took place. Kickycan frauded the process to get in power. He must be turned out, and the real result must be honored. Once that basic essence of democracy has been validated, we can talk further.

I have written it elsewhere: new elections, with clear cut rules.

In the meantime, a coalition government. Let us call it a Site Unity Government.

It was not only the vote counting (obviously the GKE made multiple "new" memberships), but the selection of the final ballot.
Was it or was it not convenient for Kickyscam to disperse the opposition in several candidacies on the final ballot?
Was it or was it not convenient for Kickyscam to let me -and Smog, and others- out so other party names would fill the ballot and some votes for your party, Love & Beauty and farmerman's became as useless as if they were thrown into a dump?
I was left out. Remember? Why?
Wouldn't it have been better if we could have voted for a party, plus a place in the ballot for independent candidates?
How is it done in the Netherlands?

Gee. And I'm the one supposedly not interested in politics.

Where was the fraud? I haven't seen one single solitary piece of evidence of this supposed fraud. And do you know why? Because I WON FAIR AND SQUARE.

(Actually, to be completely accurate here, it was an ass-kicking of epic proportions, but I don't want to rub it in)

Come on, it's all over boys! Join us at the beach house!

Absolutely right Mr K.........The so called "rebels" (a rat, a couple of witches and Arnie) should either put up the cast iron evidence....or shut up and pay their $200 per month subscriptions like the other 320,000 already have.

By the way, the car arrived today......decided on a Roller in the end, too much waiting time on the Aston Martin.

What do you think?

We dont have individual candidates, just party lists. You're describing the German system, where you have one vote for a party and one for a candidate in your own district, and the number of the seats is topped off to ensure proportional representation, with a 5% threshhold. Thats a bit complicated for here though.

Hmm ... a provisional Site Unity Government, presided by the number two in the elections, Soz, as Prime Minister and you and the number three, Frank, as deputy Prime Ministers. With as first - and only - task the development of a fair system for a re-run of the elections, in consultation with the various groups and parties here.

That sound like a reasonable set-up? I'd join you for that one ... seems like the fairest!

Oh dear, me explaining stuff to nimh Smile.

In Iceland, the electoral system is much like in the Netherlands. One chamber (the Althing), elected by proportional representation. A majority (often a coalition) elects the head of the government.

BUT WE ARE NOT A KINGDOM (or queendom), so we elect a President, a head of State, by simple majority. Every party has ONE candidate, and there is also space for independent candidates.

Now, as for who is going to be the head of the interim government of A2K, lemme tell you I personally have no interest. If Sozobe is interested, let her speak. In any case, I (and my allies) will negociate directly with her. Not with a middle-man.

And YES, Revolutions are fun... while they last.
