Easter Is Coming, What Are You Doing About It?

I honestly want to know what you guys are doing about it. I googled how many people celebrate it and found that 80% of American adults will be celebrating and participating in this religious tradition that can't be found in the Bible.

@jgallevo,
Well Christmas isn’t in the Bible either, but a lot of people celebrate that.

Me? I intend to do absolutely nothing about it.

I don’t know what is meant by “celebrate”. If you mean by going to church, I’m sure 80% of Americans won’t be doing that.

If it includes going to brunch, or watching a football game or something, well I’m still not sure.

But maybe it is true. Most people who have small children will hard boil some eggs.

@jgallevo,
I plan to celebrate Easter with plenty of sex. Easter was a fertility holiday long before the Christians took it over.

So we will celebrate like rabbits (as the saying goes).

Jgallevo! How agrees the devil and thee about thy soul, that thou soldest him on Good Friday last for a cup of Madeira and a cold capon’s leg.

Relent forever, or shall I hold it back, until that first Sunday whence the moon is full upon the happenstance of the equinox, that you might escape.

Exeunt.

@maxdancona,
Spring is when animals are born, and when animals are born sex tends to drop off. Lambing is associated with Spring, and a sheep's pregnancy usually lasts around five months. That means the time for getting pregnant would have been October/November.

@farmerman,
It's all to do with the agrarian calendar. Carnival starts around October/November when the harvest is in. It continues until Lent when consumption is cut back until food starts being produced again in late Spring.

You honestly want to tell anyone who celebrates it why they're wrong.

Knock yourself out. No one cares.

Cite your sources.

Easter is a national holiday that transcends its Christian/pagan hybrid origins.

@maxdancona,
To quote the Book of Genesis, "I pleadeth the fifteth of amendments" to your rude and out-of-the-blue question. You heathen, YOU!

Questioning my most pious and divine understanding of our greatest work of erotic literature!

@jgallevo,
Does it involve human sacrifice? Oh wait, the Christians have that covered.

Actually, the Bill of Rights comes directly from Leviticus.
