I have 2 pieces of art that I need some help with:
First one is a beautiful print signed by Francesco Vines. It depicts a woman sleeping in bed and cherubs carrying a cover to cover her with. There is a bearskin rug on the floor. I need to know the name of it.
Second is an oil framed in a very ornate heavy plaster gilt frame which I know is pre-1920 -- it's been in my family since then, my grandfather won it in a poker game in Germany. where he lived. Problem is it isn't signed -- it has a man who has an umbrella and it appears that he is repairing it, he is bald and has a beard; there are 3 ladies watching him who are smiling, they are all wearing long skirts and scarfs around their shoulders, and there is a basket of laundry and a tipped over chair in the foreground. Background is the wall of an old building. That's all I know.
Anyone who could help me ID these would be appreciated. Thanks.
