what do u think the story is for Rene Magritte's "False mirror" painting is?
might have something to do with the saying, the eyes are the windows to the soul, if they have that saying in Belgium where Magritte was from. a false mirror is another term for one-way mirror, so instead of looking into the soul, you'd be looking at a reflection of yourself. but i think Magritte once said that the titles of his paintings have nothing to do with the painting itself, although he may have been kidding.
Are you taking Art at school, bri_:-) ?
Ah, I thought so.
Good on you!
Working on your Magritte essay?
An art/media teacher speaking here!
A link to a picture of the painting would be cool, for the super lazy among us.
oh really well what i've gotta do is choose out of FALSE MIRROR, CYCLE and THE PERSISTANCE OF MEMORY and expalin wat i think the story is behind it and wat i think they were thinking wen they paited it and find 5 other opinions of wat others think the story behind it is
I strongly suspect Magritte had in mind the quotation from which he drew the title of that painting:
"The human understanding is like a false mirror, which, receiving rays irregularly, distorts and discolors the nature of things by mingling its own nature with it"
Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1626)
wat about salvador dali's the persistance of memory?

Sounds interesting!
And quite a bit of research!
I hope you're using the internet as a resource. Lots of fantastic art stuff to be found!
The eye pic reminds me of a John Lennon album cover where you can see the sky in his eyes.

Happy cooking.
The best way to find the art stuff you need on the internet is to:
Go to Google
Then record what you want in the search box: eg The Persistence of Memory + Salvador Dali
There is so much great art stuff on the internet! One of the best things about it, I think!
Good luck!
