We have a game on TV in the UK called countdown it's open to any age group and one of the two contestant yesterday was a schoolboy who did this in under 30 seconds.
The game is about making anagrams for the most part but this part is a math game.
The target number yesterday was 813
and you have to reach that figure using only these numbers, you dont have to use them all if you dont want, and you can only use a number once.
on the programme you get 30 seconds, how long will it take you?
Your numbers are: 100, 75 50 25 10 1
I took me 38 seconds to read it.
What operations are allowed?
(50/100)* (25*(-10+75)+1)
Not in 30 sec... not even minutes.

You can use each number ONCE only, you do not have to use them all, you may use addition subtraction multiplication and division.
Your 30 seconds starts now.
(25(75-10)+1)(100/50)=813
about two minutes. more if typing it is counted.
Target 813
numbers 100 75 50 25 10 1
75-10 =65
65x25 = 1625
1625 + 1 = 1626
1626 x 50 = 81300
81300 divided by 100 = 813
Come on people, who did this in less than 30 seconds? AND you weren't on camera in front of an audience of millions.
On the show, do the numbers (1, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100) stay the same, but the target varies? If so, I imagine you could practice/memorize to improve your chances quite a bit.

No Markr they are different every time.
