I saw some statistics the other day that the Catholic church is expanding it's membership in Africa, Asia and south America is losing it's grip in Europe. In fact by far the majority of Catholic are in those areas of the world. The question was posed, what is the possibility of a nonwhite nonEuropean Pope being installed? Now or in the near future. Remember how long it took to install one who was not Italian.
Ask Jesus. He'll be back before it happens.
Let's play racist stereotype guy.
Black pope: he comes out with his hat on backwards with Nelly blasting. "Yo yo yo my peeps. God bless n' sh!t." Drives away in his bling-bling Escalade with spinning rims shaped like crosses.
Asian pope: Five foot-nothing, great cook, and is frequently seen at the casino playing blackjack. Drives a pimped out Honda Civic, Fast n' Furious style. Smokes a lot of cigarettes while "bressing" the people.
Gay pope: Has a fantabulous robe, and drives a Mazda Miata. When asked about abortion, common reply is "girlfriend, puh-leeeeze!" while whipping his hands about in a flaming manner.
oooh I want the gay pope.
How much fun would that be ?

By all reports there a plenty to choose from.

Could you name just a couple of reported homosexual cardinals?
I think Andy Van Slyke was a little light in the loafers.
Aloysius Cardinal Ambrozic
lots of rumbling about his proclivities here
I grew up when "is the Pope Polish" jokes were all the rage.
And kaboom, there's a Polish Pope.
It really is time for the Papacy to reflect more of the actual Catholic community, not just the old school. That is, if they want the Catholicism to remain relevant to the communities they're developing.
If not, go back to an old Italian guy.
Walter
Don't know about any Cardinals. But from all reports there are plenty of gay priests and worse. That may not sit well but the truth is the truth.
"A nonwhite Pope?"
What is the most important aspects that should be taken into consideration when chosing a person for any job?
Skin color? No.
Ethnic background? No.
How about, strength of character, wisdom, compassion, kindness, altruism, prudence, discernment, just to name a few.

Are those the qualities of white Europeans, in particular Italians, only???

That's not what they told me when I applied for a waitstaff job at Hooters.
Just because I pee standing up. Those bastards.
I think you've identified some very important qualities, turtlette.
Hopefully the cardinals are thinking the same way.

Interesting.
Because althought you now say such, you'd answered the question

Not that I can see, I have met people from all corners of the world, male and female young and old, that have all of the above qualities.
Inner qualities should be the deciding factor. Shouldn't it?
Don't worry about au, Walter. LTX and I gave you a couple of names to start with.
Walter.
And I said I do not know whether there are or not. However, based upon statistics what are the odds that there are more than likely a few who are.
You are right, au: ~10% of all men are homosexuals = 10 US senators, 12 of the elector cardinals, ...
