The (Great?) Bahstin Plastic Bag Ban of 2019

Here in NYC, our bag ban has been postponed.

did the weekly shopping run today. had a rolling knapsack with me and a couple of bags. stores just bagged everything up and I sorted them into rollie bag and carrier bags later. no charge for the plastic bags. so weird after more than a decade of paying for them

seems like a good place for this...

I learned placing a paper bag outside of a plastic bag works best.


...unless it's a heavy rain and the paper gets wet.

i've only seen it the done the opposite way...

But doing it opposite means doom when the plastic handles break! Then there's oil and milk all over the sidewalk or floor.
