6 months ago I had an electrican put in 2 double tube fluorscent lights in my garage,(same switch) for the 1st month both worked fine but since then I have never had all 4 tubes fully lit and now I only get a dim glow and flicker from all 4 tubes and occassionaly one or two of the tubes will just dimly glow. Every once in a while one or two tubes will fully light.

Hi Dys. Take all the tubes out and switch them around. Be as anal as you want with this: mark each one with a different letter ...

or just switch them around and put them back in ,,

,, if the result is the same, it's one of two things:

poor installation (improper ground will cause the ballasts to fail)

or more likely,

the cheap Home Depot fixtures he or she bought weren't that good in the first place. (Hint: if the tubes are getting black on the ends, it's an indication of the ballast not punching enough voltage into the gas.)
