Don't I do the same - keep the tv on while I'm on the computer?
(Nasty little habit, that. Sometimes it's on just for noise, but I try to remember as often as possible to turn it off!?
Do you get news bulletins directly to your computer?
Do you really want to know all that stuff?
Are there people intelligent enough to do that?
Isn't it important to know what's going on in the world?
Doesn't that go without saying?
Aren't there people who are just not interested?
Don't some people find the news too depressing?
News media are selling a product aren't they?
Isn't it easier sometimes to remain insulated in your own safe world and pretend life is the same for others, so you don't have to worry about their suffering?
Sometimes? But doesn't compassion for others or something at least make you curious about what's going on 'out there', and maybe how you can help?
Don't you think more people watch the news for the weather/traffic reports than out of some kind of compassion for others?
Doesn't it depend on the person and their individual motivation(s)
Would motivation make them be part of the solutions?
Was the Sunday Times correct to suggest that motivations include, besides altruism, adrenaline buzzes, financial reward and companionship (sex)?
Is that what the Sunday Times says? Wouldn't I believe that to be true? Have you thought about it?
It seems possible don't you think?
Would you agree with that?
