						Help  me out here.
Every single day -- many times a day -- I receive numerous "friend suggestions" from Facebook. I remove most of them because I have no clue who these people are.
On occasion, however, I see someone who is a friend of a friend, or someone interesting that I would like to know more about, so I send them a friend request.
Not always -- sometimes -- when I click "Add Friend", I get this annoying message:
"Do you know this person?"
Why ask? The "friend suggestion" originated FROM FACEBOOK.
If I already know them, it is a stupid question.
If I don't know them but I would like to make a new friend, it is utterly no business of Facebook.
One time a few years ago, Facebook temporarily disabled my ability to send friend requests because it deemed in its omnipotent wisdom that I had sent out too many in one day. I just wanted to make more friends.
If a recipient does not want to accept my request, that is their business -- I'm fine with that.
I have made some really good friendships with people who otherwise I never would have met.
Please enlighten me.
Thanks.
WR

													@WR Smith,
												I normally deny the friend requests and recommendations. I have allowed those that I know and a few friends of friends. Gaining as much friends as possible is what the site was originally intended for? I am not in that game. Some of my friends use it as their means of communicating to a group, but they refuse to do the same on Youtube. I got on FB mainly to stay in contact with the few friends I have there, which is easier than emails.
