@Dutchy,
Depends, what do you mean by keen? General preparation of food? Or the culture as well? O' genki desu ka

@Daisy Ryder,
They were first caught in 1861 in waters called King George Sound in Western Australia hence the name. They are a very popular gaming fish in our waters, my son who is a Tuna fisherman always makes sure my fridge is full of Whiting fillets, at $60.00 a kilo, I can't afford them. Is fish expensive in the US?

@Dutchy,
Depends on the fish. Tuna fishing has become competitive and unfair due to the commercial fishing tactics. Imported fish is expensive, it should be, it's a dangerous job. Ever had Mahi Mahi burgers?

@Daisy Ryder,
There still are plenty of them along our coast but there is a strict quota on them and only 18 licenced operators are permitted to dive for them. The whole catch gets exported to Japan, Australians can't afford them at $200.00 a kilo! Abalone licences are worth $10. million each. I get Abalone through my son occasionally and they are really tasty. What about lobsters and prawns (shrimps) do you have them?
