What is the grammatical difference between the following?

Look at the walking man.
Look at the man walking.

Walking man : adjective

Man walking: adjective participle

Thanks -- I wasn't sure how to explain it to our Japanese English teacher.

I guess it ends up being more a matter of writing or speaking style. He just has to keep it consistent.
