I'm doing a school photography project on change, and I need to look at the work of some famous photographers who have done photographs on the subject of change (e.g. seasonal change, make-over, transformations etc.) Can anyone give me some names of famous photographers who have done pictures on this topic?
Atget was known to photograph the same street or building again and again over a period of years.
I'll try to think up some more.....
Look into Berenice Abbott.
one link
(one of the members of this site assisted her in her final years, perhaps he'll come by with some comments)
Not exactly on point, but related ...

Wow! This is very cool:

The photos are based on drawings but this is certainly about change and it might work for your project.
I was trying to find some of the images Atget shot of the same scene more than once when I came across this interesting link to the Atget rephotographic project:

Just one more suggestion...
You could chose a photographer like Jayne Fincher who was a staff photographer for England's royal family and shot many formal and casual portraits of Princess Diana.
I would imagine that other dignitaries and celebrities often use the same photographer over and over.
Harriet, If you look at Margaret Bourke-White's photographs of the final drive against the Nazis and, particularly, the liberation of the concentration camps, you'll see profound change at work. These are very grim pictures, but they document the end of a criminal regime and the beginnings of a restoration of freedom in Europe. Also, B-W's photographs are beautifully made and printed.
P.S. Next time you make an on-line query, you'll quite possibly receive more reples if you drop the "I need info" and "Can anyone give me" in favor of "Can someone please help me find..."
