This movie starts off I believe in Austria just prior to World War II.

It show a young man working as a ski instructor for affluent tourists. The man's primary employment is in his father's shoe repair shop.

The man wanted to go to medical school but couldn't afford it.

The man supports the Nazis and national socialism in order to make medical school available to him.
