Yes, I really like the composition and color of "portrait". Whatever that black line is on the left, it balances all the content on the right very well. The eyes are also wonderful. They are different yet beautifully balanced. Congratulations.
BTW, don't you think the archer has the arrow on the wrong side of the bow?

The more I look at the paintings the more I like them. You really have your own original style.

The arrow isn't on the wrong side of the bow for a righthanded archer. Visualize the bow held perpendicular...the archer pulls back....the arrow must be to the right of the bow or it would be very awkward. In the painting, the bow is tilted so that it is almost horizontal, but the principle is the same.
Lucky did a good job with it. (I was taught not to close the thumb when drawing the bow, but some do and then raise it just before it is released.)

I was thinking that with the bow horizontal, the arrow must rest on top, otherwise it falls down--assuming a finger is not wrapped around it.

You want whatever protrusions are on the back of the arrow to pass on the opposite side of the bow from the hand holding the bow. The arrows themselves are relatively light, but I see your point. Still at some point the front of the arrow must be released prior to releasing the bow and it always stays in place for that moment. Perhaps the same is true if the bow is tilted as the one in the painting. Hmmm....I may have to go retrieve my old bow and test that. Smile
