Okay, I am redoing my room over spring break, I wanted something cute but yet mature looking in a way. I have always liked the colors pink and black but I am scared to put them together in my room. I am also having a hard time finding accesories (ex.. Bedding) for my room. Somone please help me! It's driving me crazy!
That's a very 80's color scheme, is that something you'd want to go with? (The fact that it's very 80's...)
I'm not sure it is possible to have a "mature" looking room when it is done in pink and black. I tend to associate that color combination with the teenage years. However, maybe if you stuck to pink walls and fabrics- with black lacquer furniture you could pull it off. I had a dear transvestite friend who did a red and black combo in a little East Village studio and it was quite stylish. S/he purchased some basic wood furniture and painted it high gloss black, plus red drapery and linens . A nice white and black square tile floor pulled it all together with some red throw rugs. No reason you couldn't use pink in place of red.
I think the most important thing is to buy the best quality items you can afford. Cheap stuff looks cheap and does not wear well over time. I would say take a trip to the library and look through the decorating section, including the current architectual magazines.
Hey Jess, have you tried looking up Delia's? They have pink galore, if not much in pink and black...
I think one of the Target "Swell" series had that color scheme... lemme look...
Sozobe - my 12 year old niece would kill for that bedset.
Cannot offer an opinion on something I can't even visualize.
