El Museo del Barrio in New York City presents an exhibit of photography by Augustin Victor Casasola, an early Mexican photojournalist. See about it under current exhibitions at the link above.

Timberlanko:
Perhaps you should open a BIG 'Insert plant/object/animal' thread.

Could be funny, Australia is the land of the BIG objects...

I give you back your thread...
I have nothing of relevance to add, but the links are really interesting, thank you;

Time for some international gallery links, since I just got an update from artupdate.com. There are many more galleries and museums that they list - I just pick a sampling of them while trying to vary the art and the regions.

I am spending a few weeks house sitting for a couple of a2k frineds in New Mexico. The front page of a recent edition of the local paper had a photo and announcement of an exhibit of Spanish painters at the Albuquerque Museum of Art - oh, yay for me, I love the spanish painters and did not get my fill of them at the New York Met's exhibit on Spanish influece on French painting a few years ago. I'll come back and report after I see the show.

I just want to mention that the A2K Portal: Arts offers a couple of nice links as well.
(And some could be added there, too :wink:)

Hmm, this thread is pretty much about specific exhibits, which are time limited. But I suppose I could put the galleries and museums themselves in the Portal.

Please do, Osso. Thanks, Walter for that list. I was impressed that A2K is included. Wow! I just realized that it is A2K's Portal link. Of course, we are included!
Osso, I wish I could attend the Spanish Art exhibit with you. That would compensate me for not being able to go to the London Pow Wow.

Brackman2, you could start a separate topic for your question. I looked the name up in google quickly and didn't find anything, but you will reach more possible viewers of the question with a separate topic. Just click on New Topic at the top of the page while you are in the Art Forum of A2k.

I can't link to galleries listed in artnet.com's newletter list of new galleries on their site - they choose to have people just click on the general site and then subscribe to the newsletter, to protect their image rights.

However, I just had a delightful time looking at the new gallery list in their current newletter, and recommend email subscribing to it. Each gallery will have a list of artists, many of them major and or interesting, and the photos of the individual works are good.

And those are just the newly listed galleries... the main list is quite vast and I can imaging hours of happy exporing of the work.

http://www.artnet.com for more info.

Here's the specific page for subscribing to the newsletter -

One of the best fresh-water aquariums in the world is the Tennessee Aquarium in downtown Chattanooga. The way they designed the aquarium is pretty neat, and they have many good restaurants in the neighborhood.
