I am driving a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am - 4 banger. I just recently purchased a new CD player for it. I installed it, and after everything was wired up and working - I went to slide the CD player in and all my dash lights went out (speedometer / heator lights / and also the fog light button wont work).. I unplugged the CD player hoping it would come back on, but nothing happened. Also - just recently my check engine light came on, when nothing seems to be wrong with it. Please let me know if anyone can find anything out.
Same problem with my '95 Grand Am...any luck fixing it?

I'm having the exact same issues as you had with my 1995 Grand Am. Hooked up a new CD deck, and lost dash lights and fog lights. I've been pulling my hair out for the past few days trying to figure this out! Did you ever find the problem or figure out a solution? If so, please let me know, it would be much appreciated!!
