Only for those who cannot have both, dear Mathos.

As much as I want to agree with you Lola, you gotta admit...Einstein had a reasonable quantity of both when he said that, so it's hard to confidently disagree with him.

Mathos:-

On a scale of value "drivel" is miles better than the uttermost bottombarrelscrape of ineptitudinous
archeological importations of cess-pit excavations
from a dig into the remnants of an ancient tribe of Dododumbells whose extinction is thought to be due to malnutrition caused by bottom lip trembling inhibiting their capacity to eat.
Surely,in this year of Our Lord 2005,you can manage to apply your imagination to more effect than that.We pride ourselves on these threads with the quality of our insults.
The use of the word "drivel" simply serves to reinforce philosophy threader's already settled opinion that not only have you nothing to say but also that you can't get yourself up for saying it in language which transcends that which is habitually employed in girl's primary schools when their tongues get tired of being pulled out.I knew a young lady once,Sophie Clapsaddle Cox by name, who frequently resorted to the use of "drivel" when her brain ground to a halt.
As for quoting Einstein you must be joking. We can all copy out bits from various places but most of us take the precaution of knowing something about the achievements of those we quote even if only as a mark of respect to the memory of the person and to our fellow threaders.
spendius much prefers to be insulted in a manner congruent with his understanding.Perhaps a detailed study of Budgie the Helicopter by our ex-gracious Princess would set you on the right path.

Mathos:-

Have you not noticed that the young lady has changed her name to The Pentacle Queen.Do you not respect her right to do this because if you don't you can hardly expect your ingratitations to carry much clout. She has admitted an error and that ought to be the end of it.
I hope you are not going to continue your stubborn refusal to accept other people's chosen names as you do elsewhere because all it achieves is to discredit what you have to say assuming that such a remote possibilty exists.

spendius, are you questioning my intellect? lols!! you are certainly very funny, i congratulate you on your witt.
also, dont be to harsh on mathos, mortals of lower intellectual capacity can hardly be expected to keep up and get names right can they? (in case you havent noticed you have been calling Eorl 'Earl' for quite a long time now, Oh the irony!)

about my name change, Axl said he didnt want me using that username as he didnt want his identity discovered etc. So I changed it, end of story, we are still as happy and in love as much as ever. Very Happy

and lola, yes we are right and great and all that... Maybe we should start some kind of club?....

and i suport einstiens quote, 'Imagination is more important that knowledge' because I like imagination more than knowledge, and I say so, and seeing as i dont know whether you even exist, then that makes me right!!!

so, I vin, yar? Cool

The Pentacle Queen:-

I would never question a young lady's intellect as I am totally baffled when I try to conjure up what such a thing might mean.I am pleased to hear that Axl has put his foot down and curbed your wilful ways.I don't think we ought to mention his name again otherwise his purposes might be frustrated.

The right and great club? Well, surely we should have some word included that will give credit for our abilities (plural) to beguile. Thinking........

We are neither refined nor witches (but TPQ is a queen) so that name won't do. How about the Royalty Club?

The Refined Exquisite Lady's Intellectual Coven.

RELIC.

Lola:-

If you read the Malleus Malificarum very closely,a tough task I will admit, you will find the official definition of a witch and it is an objective definition as you would expect from such an illustrious source.
"Refined" is a word open to wide interpretations.Look how refined the taste bud experience of American consumers has become in relation to ,say, ice cream. There are other sensual stimuli to which the word "taste" might be applied and refined.A jacuzzi for example.

In language use one might say that one could use the word "beguile" as a refinement of " crass
exploitatation of sordid male weakness with a veneer of modern civilised values brushed on."One may beguile a kitten with a piece of string almost as easily as one may beguile a priapse with an engineered contraption designed to prevent long black stockings from falling down to the ankles.
