I'm all for the beer Benn Gunn, but we mean 'beer' don't require any of that Budweiser /Coors/ Peps...No yankee coloured water ! Let's see a few pints of Tetley's, Chester's, Old Peculiar, Whitbreads, Guinness' Lion's,
good old British brews, you boy's over the pond though, you take your time with our beer, it'll damage you, badly!

Spendius will be on the look out for 'Yorkshire Bitter' another gradely brew, but get the money off him Benn, they're all of a kind them Yorkie tykes, want it all, pay for nowt.

Sorry mate, but when it comes to beer the germans have outbrewed the english by a mile.

Mathos...you gotta be informed that I spent 2 years over in the UK...and I developed a passion for Guiness. (They do not export the tasty stuff!)

I also managed to spend several days in Munich during Octoberfest...so I understand where Cyracuz is coming from.

We all gotta get together and do enough beer to where the taste doesn't matter...just the hardness or softness of the landing areas!

Well that is a sign of real common sense Benn, Guiness a beautiful drink indeed, and as you say it is not exported. Brewed under licence in other countries, but the water is not the same or anything like the 'Irish' spring water, one particular source I am informed, and nothing else will produce'Guiness.'

I have to admit, (and it is no easy task especially to that oaf Cyracuz) that there are some brilliantly splendid German beers. I have sampled many a stein over the years. However, I think you will both concur with me that once you acquire a 'taste' for a particular brew it is highly likely that the same will remain your preference for life. Rather like a fine port or brandy, 'you know it so well. '

Worth considering 'a meet' could be fun. Good to know you have spent some time in the UK also. It will have been of enormous benefit to you, I am sure.

Actually...my stay there is one of the fondest memories of my life.

While it was of some benefit to me...since it was occasioned by my being posted there as a member of the Strategic Air Command...I suspect the preponderance of the benefit was to you blokes.

And of course your women derived lots of benefits also.

Twisted Evil

Wouldn't be a bad statement to make that if you guy's could hit the correct and duly specified target once in a while.

As it is, you have this habit of amusing the enemy and frustrating the natives.

Ah the women, of course, they had great enjoyment fleecing you poor chaps of thousands for what you could have purchased for a five dollar bill in The States.

Amazing that you take an opportunity to have a few words of fellowship and light banter...and try to make it into a free-for-all.

World treating you poorly, Mathos?

Sounds like you beg it to.

Yep...take an opportunity to have a few words of friendship and **** all over it.

Hey...for what it's worth...I pity you. You sound like a guy not having a very good time in this life.

Try not to worry. Life's short...and if you're lucky, you won't live all that much longer.

Tis indeed poor education which reduces our colonial friends to such levels of poor games-man-ship!

Rather like the small boy, who having loaned his ball for the game and finding himself on the loosing side, clutches the object to his chest, runs from the field of play screaming, 'We are not playing anymore!'

Benn, you disappoint me 'Sir' I had some prime weaponry to heap upon you !

You are a jerk, Mathos. And not an especially bright one.

But you sound like someone who has no friends...and has decided to come into this forum to be an annoying gnat...and you are succeeding.

I'm happy for your success...and I pity you for your deficiencies.

Queenie:-

There's a picture of Frank and Lola together in a seedy Madhatted boozerie somewhere on the threads unless it has been edited off since I saw it.
Also in the picture was Major General Bernard Latham looking,I thought, somewhat disconsolate and Mr Joe Nation,if memory serves, looking like Mr Joe Nation.
Lola will provide the link for you if you ask her.She is a very co-operative person. She can, however, growl if you provoke her.I will admit that she looked very glamorous and sort of floated well above the circumstances she was in.

Benn, you can do far better than the above, tis childish and petty!

Let rip Old Boy, your batting for America here you know!

OK so batting coincides with a girls game in England, rounders they call it. You call it baseball!

mathos: Just because rounders is a girls game doesnt mean its easy. I'd like to see you try. You are probably fat anyway.

also frank, i read ur profile and i couldnt agree more about the agnostic thing. I was very impressed, however you do have a very poor taste in sports.

where is lola these days?

No Queenie, certainly not fat, muscular and ruggedly handsome, I admit to. I may post a photograph in the near future.
Please read the text correctly, 'Rounders' is a girls game.
It is only natural that real men would not play the game under any simulated guise, no more than he would play net ball or dress up like a walking padded cell for a game attempting to approach the virtues of 'Rugby.'
