Learned a paradiddle on the D'jembe drum.
What I learned today... or anyday for that matter, is that how little I can learn in a day.
How much time can you squeeze out after school/work, news papers, magazines, showers, listen to music, chitchat , TV shows, webs, emails, baskball, fooling around, three meals plus searching fridge plus milky way............................................
On the other hand, whatever we do, we are learning.........about life, learning what it is to be a human....
Today I learned that Greenland is actually a part of Denmark. Interesting...
I learned that when my dell laptop doesn't wanna fire up it can be easily fixed by pulling the battery out and hitting the "on" button a few times to discharge any static. Then putting the battery back and woah-la! It fired up.
Was relieved - cause I was a bad girl and didn't back up my work files yesterday.
Gravy - good job on the eye contact AND chit-chat! By the way, are you still back in the States or have you moved again?
About the digression: I think kicky and I will meet someday - hopefully April - and we'll see what happens. If he came up here I'd offer him a place to stay: probably on the couch, but one never knows, does one?
What did I learn today....? Howe to correctly purl onto the fourth needle while knitting in the round (heh!).
Also, I slipped in that I was not The Kids' mother, but aunt, while talking to the hottie athletics instructor.
Ooh, making the moves, huh, littlek? What hottie athletics instructor? Is this somebody you just met today?
My neice is signed up for an afterschool gym class once a week - she has yet to actually do it, she chickens out. I wasn't so much making moves as trying not to be invisible.
Well, whatever it was, I like the idea.
Okay, I'll stop diverting this thread into a singles chat line again. Good luck with the hottie.
I learned, hmmm, that I still have an extraordinary ability to be annoyed by some people. I thought I'd grown out of that.
Hello learners/teachers.
LK: (thanks), yes I'm still in the US, scandinavian region, but wondering daily if the winds shouldn't blow me elsewhere more harmonious.
I learned today that vernal-equinox happens on Sunday at 07:34 EST and that "equinox" means "equal-night" (referring to day and night having the same duration for that day, which I learned when I was 4 for the first equinox I remember).
questions:
KC: Are you planning a Greenland trek? It is supposed to be very un-green.
paradiddle? George, can you enlighten, so I can engage my d'jembe?
LK:fourth needle in a round formation? (these needles are the ones with no butt part, right?)

A few of us learned about the paradiddle here at A2K a little while ago.
yes, double-pointed needles.
If I still had a working digital camera, I'd show you all my first miserable attempts at a sock.
Why are the plains so unharmonious?
Who's in charge here beside the regular knit wits?
thanks for the paradiddle info, though it scared me off. I am still using a ' boom-butt-a-smack' naming convention for the rythms I was taught. the notes thing made me feel as if somebody gave me step by step instructions for achieving zen.
The (pond-ridden portions of) plains' lack of harmony seems to come from the political winds bundling of undies, and exposing the emperor's clotheslessness. (yesterday's lack of comprehension --> todays extreme convolutedness)
EB: if any coping mechanisms (short of pouring sugar in their gas tanks) arrive in dealing with annoyokles, will you share?
My good friend knitted a giant but gangly orange bag, and then the following day came with a metamorphosized (sp) dainty felt one...magical.
Tonight I learned that if you're out walking the dogs, and you see a man alone in the back seat of a car, it really isn't worth glancing over
