It's all in this one simple song. No need to thank me. Finding answers to the big questions for others is what I do. Because I care. And you feel that.
Love Is The Answer
England Dan & John Ford Coley
Name your price
A ticket to paradise
I can't stay here any more
And I've looked high and low
I've been from shore, to shore, to shore
If there's a short cut I'd have found it
But there is no easy way around it
Light of the world, shine on me
Love is the answer
Shine on us all
Set us free
Love is the answer
Who knows why
Someday we all must die
We're all homeless boys and girls
And we are never heard
It's such a lonely, lonely, lonely world
People turn their heads
And walk on by
Tell me is it worth just another try
Light of the world, shine on me
Love is the answer
Shine on us all
Set us free
Love is the answer
Tell me, are we alive
Or just a dying planet
(What are the chances)
Ask the man in your heart
For the answer
And when you feel afraid
(Love one another)
When you've lost your way
(Love one another)
And when you're all alone
(Love one another)
And when you're far from home
(Love one another)
And when you're down and out
(Love one another)
And when your hopes run out
(Love one another)
And when you need a friend
(Love one another)
And when you're near the end
(Love)
(We've got to love)
(We've got to love one another)
Light of the world, shine on me
Love is the answer
Shine on us all
Set us free
Love is the answer
Light of the world, shine on me
Love is the answer
Shine on us all
Set us free
Love is the answer...
Some of us knew that all along kicky
Here's the question that I want to pose though.
What makes these lyrics any less worthy to be followed than a bible's words, or a belief in a God?
I guess I am trying to make the point that we can pick our beliefs and just make them our own, and if I choose to live my life by these words instead of something out of the bible or out of the Koran, or even out of a company's mission statement, it's all the same goddam thing.
Beliefs don't have to be true to help people, as long as the believer believes that they are. I could believe that staring at a monkey's ass for three hours every day will enlighten me and give me the key to happiness. If I believe it's true, then it is.
Absolutely! And so could you, if you were so inclined.
That's a proposal I respectfully decline!
Kicky, if you are proposing a new religion, you are kind of missing the point...
Religion is all about us vs. them. Saved vs. Lost. Chosen people vs. unchosen. Submissive to God vs. infidel.
How does this philosophy help me feel better than the people around me?
Hmmm...I hadn't really thought of it as a religion. More as an answer to all life's questions. An Anti-religion, if you will.
Of course, just the knowledge that you have the answers to all life's mysteries should be enough for you to look down your nose and poo-poo all those lesser humans who don't understand. Isn't that enough?
ebrown, your avatar is just priceless. What a cutie that is
Isn't it true that it doesn't matter what a person's beliefs are? People believe all kinds of wacky things. The point is that you have to believe in something. Even if it's a bunch of bullshit.
And THAT is the answer to all life's mysteries.
yeh but you are as transparent as a coke bottle kick. Your answer to everything has to end with "wigglin your bean"
kicky, you just have to believe in yourself, and that's
the answer to your life's most pressing question.
Farmerman, so you agree with me then?
By the way, as far as my bean wiggling is concerned, I would ask that you please refrain from fantasizing out loud about it on this public forum. People will start to talk.

I respectfully disagree. All you have to do is believe. Period. You don't have to believe in yourself at all. You can believe that you are an insignificant turd and that some almight god is controlling your every move like a puppet on a string if you want to. The only thing that you have to do is believe in something.
I like musicals and long walks in the woods.
Excellent. I believe you have the seeds of a great set of core beliefs there, Shirley...er, I mean farmerman.
I always get lost in the woods
