The Boortz (or whatever his name is) article is a movement of the goal posts. The 8.3% rate of unemployment (measured by U3) is looking better so lets look instead to U6 or U5 and maybe even U4, he argues. Higher, scarier numbers.
If you track the graphs of those measures over the past, say, six years, they all mirror each other in downs and ups with U3.
