@okie,
Thank you for sharing the Daily Presidential Tracking Poll Okie.
I analyze all news and information because this is what it takes to to have a non biased understanding of what is being observed?
Do you study all information as well or only those news sources that are relaitive to your own frame of reference?
There are many view points on the problems that we face, I find this one to be interesting!

Yes, I figured it was an ad, but that is the first one of that type I have seen in a long time on Rasmussen, maybe the first one ever?
Incidentally, I listened to some of it, but then decided I had heard enough to know what the general idea was.
The funny thing is that they used to run similar ads on Dem websites during Bush's term

I doubt that aince it says on their website:
Quote:We generate all of our revenue by selling advertising, title sponsorships and subscriptions.

I know they run ads all the time, Walter, but I thought this one was a pretty unusual one. Maybe I'm not fully awake this morning?
@okie,
Yes, especially since Stansberry and his company (then Pirate Capital, now Stansberry & Associates) were ordered to pay "$1.5 million in restitution and civil penalties for disseminating false stock information and defrauding public investors through a financial newsletter" in August 2007.
@Walter Hinteler,
Maybe "Pirate Capital' was a good name?
@okie,
okie, Are you ever fully awake? Facts and evidence presented to you are ignored, and you continue to arrive at conclusions that can't be supported.
@reasoning logic,
I try not to think about either Ron or his son. Hopefully, if ignored, they will go away.
There were several recent satires on Ron's campaign to reinstate the gold standard.

Christmas job layoffs?
Yes, but they will only get worse as the year goes on.
Just think of the millions of temporary Christmas workers that will be laid off in June.
The HORROR!!!! The economy will be in the dumps and Fireworks factories won't need or be able to hire all those people.
@parados,
We could make fireworks legal in all the states like cigarettes and bombs and bullets. That should make more jobs if we make every citizen buy at least $50 worth of fireworks.
@RABEL222,
Of course that would drive up the cost of health care as we need more surgeons to reattach thumbs. MORE JOBS though.
But maybe we would be better off if there were fewer opposable thumbs in the world.

You may be onto something there. Perhaps on a healthier note, how about mandatory dentist visits every few months? We could even have the government pay for it, and they might wish to pay the dentists for advising people whether they wish to have their teeth treated anymore after a certain age, because gum disease and infected teeth are likely to kill them anyway. Why throw good money after bad ? Eventually, the government could make those calls, and the advisory boards could be called "oral death panels." We know that government paying for all of that will ultimately make everyone healthier, reduce the number of false teeth, and lower the overall cost of dental care in this country. It would also prevent insurance companies from preying upon the helpless tooth challenged people in this country. Who could be against it ?

We at least need someone as President who is able to count past ten without removing his or her shoes and socks.
We will once again have such a president once Obama has moved out January 2013
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers for December (an by extension for all of 2010). The CPI's that get the most attention is the one that includes food and energy. It shows prices up by a relatively low percentage for both the month and year. The Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, shows prices up by an even smaller amount.
Of course, we have probably all noticed increases at the gas pump in the last few weeks. Here in Cville, gas for the lowest octane is flirting with the $3/gal mark. And I certainly have seen prices on some stuff at Kroger rising. I read that if gas remains at this level or goes higher, we will see food go higher in a few months. In my retail stores we are getting some pretty severe price increases. A lot of things we sell are imported. The government is keeping the value of the dollar down to encourage exports but that means imports become more dear.
Most economists believe that inflation in the U.S. will remain below 3%, which is the point where the Fed would start thinking about increasing interest rates.
One of the indices I follow is the CPI-W. That is the one used in determining SSAE COLA increases (3rd Q over 3rd Q).
Year ........... 2010 ............ 2009 ........... 2008
1st Q ........... 212.9 .......... 206.5 .......... 207.7
2nd Q ......... 214.0 ........... 209.2 .......... 212.9
3rd Q .......... 214.1 .......... 211.0 ........... 215.5
4th Q .......... 215.0 .......... 211.8 ........... 214.1
@plainoldme,
Yes I do understand somewhat how you feel about Ron paul, I myself do not agree with all of what he says!
Do you agree with what this little girl has to say? Most people will not watch the whole video and I find that to be sad as it does not start getting good till the end!

I have a few practical and on the ground observations to make about the economy.
Consider this: I have sheets that were made in France, Germany, Portugal and the US. The German-made sheets are the best. The flannel is thick, the hems are deep and there are extra folds of fabric on each pillow case to keep the pillows in place. The Portuguese flannel sheets are made to American specifications but are superior to the American sheets. The French percale sheets are both softer and yet more sturdy than the American percale sheets.
I almost never found suitable American made shoes. I now wear what are classes as European comfort shoes but are made in France, Spain, Portugal and Israel.
I wanted to buy shoe polish the other day but I would never use the liquid wax that comes in dauber topped bottles as it breaks down the leather. However, quality shoe polish from England and France is available here if you look.
Get my drift? If America produced quality goods on a mass scale, perhaps, the American economy would be better.
