I had lost hope to make research in internet.
But I am cock sure that many of those who surf in Internet are well informed .
Ragman is not Rama fuchs
Good evening to yall. I was poring over the numbers this afternoon on the March numbers this morning indicating 80,000 jobs were lost in March and the unemployment rate rose to 5.1% from 4.8%. And I noted that the job losses in February and January were revised upward to 76,000 each month from 63,000 and 22,000 respectively.
Here are the numbers broken down by sector:
--construction: 51,000 jobs lost
--manufacturing: 48,000 jobs lost
--professional services: 35,000 jobs lost
--retail: 12,000 jobs lost
--education/health care: 42,000 jobs created
--government: 18,000 jobs created.
I can source that if asked. I forgot to write down where I got it from, but I can find it.
The Fed meets again on April 30th. The expectation is another .25% or perhaps a .50% cut in interest rates.
education/health care: 42,000 jobs created
The best one to read.
Recession takes hold in the job market
by Jared Bernstein with research assistance from James Lin
The nation's job market appears solidly in recession, as payrolls contracted for the third month in a row, and unemployment jumped up from 4.8% to 5.1%, the highest jobless rate since September 2005, according to the report released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Payrolls were down by 80,000 in March, the largest loss in five years, while January and February's initially reported losses were revised downward by an additional 67,000 jobs.

I guess she was right... Since the Dems took over control of Congress, gas prices have skyrocketed, foreclosure rates drastically increased, the economy has taken a big hit, Wall St is suffering and the war continues.
Big changes alright, just all bad. Sure hope the electorate remembers all these "changes" in November.
Your post reads like a hoax email. Please tell us how the Dems managed to effect all these negative results.
What have they done to fix anything? They were full of big words and big promises... all bark, no bite...
If someone, I won't name names here, understood how the congress worked he would know that a minority in the Senate can prevent legislation from being enacted by the majority.
But then its the democrats fault for not having a filibuster proof majority I guess. But they could well change that this election.

Are you spreading the never-ending AMERICAN DREAMS?
Fo9rget it
From a CBS poll:
When asked to compare things in the U.S. now to five years ago, 78% say things are worse today (the highest since CBS news began asking the question in 1986) and only 4% say things are better. Nearly four in 10 think things will be better in the next five years, while a third expect things to get worse.
THE UNITED STATES TODAY VS.
FIVE YEARS AGO FIVE YEARS FROM NOW
Better 4% 39%
Worse 78 34
To blame Clinton for this worsening economy is ignorance at its best. Some people forget who's been running this country for the past seven years.
Karl Heinrich Marx ( May 5, 1818 – March 14, 1883)
was an influential German economist, philosopher, social and political theorist.
Although Marx addressed many issues in his career as a journalist and philosopher, he is most famous for his analysis of history in terms of class conflict,
summed up in his assertion that, "The interests of capitalists and wage-laborers are diametrically opposed to each other."[1] His writings formed the basis of later communist and socialist movements.."

USA's compassionate consume oriented economy is slowly, stedidly facing its waterloo.
Rama, Karl died,
His theories lied,
He took millions for a ride,
They cried - then died,
So awake oh Rama,
Then tell Obama.
Unfortunately( because of the politics) USA's Economy has no chance to survive
Sixty Minutes did a piece this evening, saying that the USA is actively working on manned trips to the moon and mars. Regarding the latter, the trip would take 2.5 years, and we would have to stay there a minimum of 18 months so that the planets are properly aligned. There would, of course, be no rescue should something go wrong.
Can you imagine the cost of these ventures. And this at a time when our economy is reeling. Further, I doubt that we would gain much at all from all this expense and risk. It is stupid!!!!!!!!!!!
Should I expose more hypocracy ?
USA's borrowed brain and bankruptcy is over.
I am a human but not a person to uphold/degrade the citizens of any country.

Rama may very well be a total dingbat but it's unbecoming and puerile to question his human-ness unless, of course, okie would consider his own human-ness as somewhat less than needed to join the society of mankind.
Funny you would discuss what is unbecoming, dys.
Opinions are based upon upbringing
That I can agree with. But one can always change, Rama. As a human, you have the option of free will.
Anyway
I beg the people who participate in this serious thread to stick to the subject of this thread.
Good suggestion for any thread, but a little humor doesn't hurt, does it? I agreed you were human, but dys called you a dingbat. I think I deserve credit for being decent and courteous.
On a serious note, you are pretty hard to figure out, Rama, and your posts are often cryptic. I have come to the conclusion you are some kind of a Karl Marx follower, or something? We will see, Rama, if you can answer the question with a straight answer?
On the subject of the economy, the U.S. is at what, around 5% unemployment and people are crying the blues. Wasn't unemployment close to 25% during the depression? I think we will be just fine, provided people quit whining and complaining and start spending more wisely, and that includes the government first and foremost. I get the feeling though that some people here want to see the U.S. economy tank completely. It ain't going to happen, Rama, we are more progressive and ambitious than that. We may have tough times, but who doesn't?
Humour/ humor is my life.
Most of the participants who are active here knows my critical views ( I mean abuzz where we had started to know each other)
Of course I am a pacifist like Gandhi and infatuated with Karl Marx.
I have no regret nor i wish to dance according to the tunes of hypocracy.
