I'm writing a story for a magazine about art in the 1960s and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to a worthwhile subject matter? Apart from the obvious Warhol idea anything else that anyone can suggest as an interesting story matter?

"Color Field" painting really took off in the 60s - Mark Rothko, Helen Frankenthaler and Elsworth Kelly would be worth investigating.

"Conceptual Art" started in the 60s - John Cage was one of its early adherents.

"Minimalism" by the likes of Frank Stella and Richard Serra.

You've already mentioned "Pop Art" but there was also a movement called "Op Art" that is very interesting.

Good luck on your paper!
