How to get to heaven when you die

Reply Thu 3 Mar, 2005 12:02 am
ARE YOU 100% SURE THAT IF YOU DIED TODAY THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?

1. REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER AND IN NEED OF A SAVIOR:

Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

This all began with the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect, there was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sin entered into the world. The pain which this world sees is the result of sin.

2. BECAUSE OF OUR SINS, WE DIE BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND PHYSICALLY, BUT GOD SENT HIS SON TO TAKE OUR PUNISHMENT AND GIVE US A CHANCE NOT TO HAVE TO GO TO HELL.

Ro 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Ro 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Every person who has ever lived is a sinner and is not righteous because we do bad things. A sin is a crime against God, just as if you steal something at the store, it is punishable by going to jail. It's the same thing with sin. Even if we lie one time, the punishment is hell, which is a prison for those who commit crimes against God. No matter how well you live your life from then on, you have already committed a sin which will be punished if you are not pardoned. If you commit a crime, and then live as a good citizen you still will go to jail for the crime you committed. Right? Just as the president can pardon a crime so you won't go to jail, Jesus can pardon your sins so that you do not go to hell, and can go to heaven when you die.

3. WE MUST CONFESS JESUS CHRIST AS OUR SAVIOR WITH OUR MOUTHS AND BELIEVE IN OUR HEARTS THAT HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD, BY DOING THIS WE ARE RECEIVING HIM:

Ro 10:9,10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: {power: or, the right, or, privilege}
(KJV)

You cannot get to heaven by being a good person, going to church, baptism or any other way other than by turning to Jesus and asking Him to Save you. While these are good things to do, some people believe that they will get to heaven if they do these things, but the bible says that there is only one way to heaven and that is through receiving what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you.

Will you do that today? If you will, you can be 100% sure that you will go to heaven when you die.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD FOR YOUR SINS? DO YOU ACCEPT WHAT HE DID FOR YOU TO PAY FOR YOUR SINS?

4. If you are willing to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior please pray this from your heart to God,

"Dear LORD JESUS, I believe that YOU died on the Cross and Rose from the dead for my sins. I realize that I cannot get to heaven any other way other than to trust YOU as my SAVIOR. I ask you to forgive me for my sins and take me to heaven when I die. I receive YOU as my Lord and SAVIOR. Thank You for Saving me in JESUS name amen"

If you prayed that prayer from your heart to God, and meant it with all of your heart, you are now a child of God and will go to heaven when you die.

Now that you are on your way to heaven, you should attend a bible believing church and follow in baptism.

Frodo, do you really think that a just God would design us such that it is impossible for us not to sin, and then punish anyone who did not believe that he impregnated a Jewish woman and worshipping her son is the only way to heaven?

Ask yourself what Jesus "saves" us from, if not the irrational wrath of a God who blames us for his own shortcomings.

Why did Jesus have to be sacrificed, anyway? We can forgive those who sin against us without demanding that someone die first. Are we that much better than your God?

Amen! You will not find much support on this site. Most of the posters are too educated to believe in God. If they do, they believe ina Wonderful Loving God who would not eternally damn anyone regardless of what they did or did not do.

Keep praying for them to have the "Ears" to hear with, I do. Look out for Frank, he'll want to debate you to death if he sees this.

I finally have proof that Heaven does not exist.

I requested driving directions to Heaven on both Yahoo maps and Mapquest. Both indicate they cannot find any address for heaven.

Hmm.
I thought, all you had to do was stretch your arms out, flap like mad, and you would rise to heaven?

Noddy, what do you think of a road sign on the way to Heaven: "Dead End Road."

We also could add another sign: "Sanitary Land Fill," representing the quest for good, clean living.

Here is how it is. God is perfect and demands perfection. God made a perfect man and woman, they were sinless. They had an opportunity to sin by eating the fruit in the garden of eden and they ate it, dooming themselves and all of their children. You and I are their children. We sin because we took on that sin nature of our parents. A sin is a crime against God and everything that you and I do, think and say is being recorded in heaven. We will stand before God and be judged for all of it. Sin we are all sinners and deserve prison or hell, we cannot save ourselves. But God loved you and I so much that He send Jesus to live a perfect life and take yours and my punishment so that we don't have to go to hell forever. All we have to do is except what Jesus did on the cross for us. Just say I accept you Jesus to save me. Jesus is going to judge you, don't you think you had better do it His way. I am not trying to push anything on you, I just want to give people the opportunity to accept Him. It is a free choice. Those who do not accept Him, will have to pay their own punishment, which is hell. I choose what Jesus did for me. You can too. I pray that you will do that.

This would explain the omitted routes in Mapquest and Yahoo. After all if the elect are lifted up bodily.....

Celestial winds do not permit footprints or directional signs.

Anybody else see the contradiction. If Adam and Eve were perfect, but chose to sin, and god is perfect, isn't it likely that he can choose to sin.

It's some twisted Christian logic i tell you what.

Let's see if you can back up some of your bold dogmatic statements. I hardly ever get to debate with another straight-edge person.

They were perfect in that they didn't have a sin nature. They still had the ability to sin and when they did, it allowed all of the pain and suffering to enter the world. Pain and suffering are the result of sin. We can only get rid of sin, through what Jesus Christ did. Someday soon, Jesus Christ is going to come back, just as He came the first time and then He will destroy sin.

....and that involves destroying sinners, does it not?

Logically; no sinners = no sin. So the result of the perfect love of the creator/messiah will be:

1. a horrible temporal (physical) death, followed by
2. an even more horrible spiritual damnation of torments and everlasting pain

That Mel Gibson has much to answer for.

What kind of logic are you using Mr. Baggins?

They were, perfect and it wasn't in their nature to sin, but they had the ability to. Obviously, if they did sin, it was in their nature to sin. There is no way around it.

Regarding, their "sin" which "allowed all of the pain and suffering to enter the world."

Obviously, before their sin, animals would have had to die, in order to feed Adam and Eve. Their death, would have been painful, regardless of the method used.

And if your "god" is perfect, which cannot be any different than the perfect used to describe adam and Eve, than it is entirely in this "god's" nature, and ability to sin.

Lets say you have a son, lets call him Adam (for no particular reason) and you love your son as any father would. One day when little Adam is old enough to understand, you tell him "Adam, dont touch the cookies", you then proceed to place a plate of cookies right in front of him. Adam knows hes not allowed to eat the cookies, but out of curiosity, he grabs one and eats it (as any young child would). What would you do?

Well, as a good Christian I'm sure you try to follow God's example in all you do. So, you would take your son by the hand into the kitchen, turn the element on and proceed to hold his hand on the element forever and ever while he screams and yells in pain. Would you do that to your own son just because he didn't obey you? I'm sure you wouldn't. Infact, even if your son disobeyed your every command you would still love him and not wish him any harm. Its human nature.

God, on the other hand, went out of his way to create a place where he could send his children to burn forever and ever out of spite for their disobedience. This is the God you worship.

I'm sure there is a reasonable, biblical explanation for this... right? God is love... right?

WHERES THE LOVE MAN??
