Does "Lefts" here refer to "the left wing of conservatives"?

Yeah, kinda, but the "left wing" is not conservative, which is on the "right wing." Of course it's all a matter of degree, and there are "centralist" views too. On the so-called left wing are "liberals," which are most moderate. Further left are so- called "progressives," which is basically socialism. Far left is communistic.

So "left-wing of conservatives" is pretty much an oxymoron.

Well, I don't know what else to say, Ori. Left is not right. When someone refers the the left, they are not talking about the right.
