Never tried the syrup, but I like the blackcurrant jam and jelly.

They used to have a blackcurrant syrup at some IHOPS. Good on waffles with really whipped butter

Calamity, Isn't that what Chambered is? A blackcurrant liqueur. That stuff is like velvet.

No glutterbag, it is truly wine and so good you'd drink
a bottle in no time. Smile

Wait I'll look for a source. Oh here is one - unfortunately
only european suppliers

But here is a site with instructions how to make blackcurrant
wine yourself

Unfortunately, I live in Maryland and it's impossible unless you are a liquor distributor to buy spirits anywhere else but a liqour store. Can't go to Virginia and have anything shipped back, can't direct ship from California. I think it is still legal to buy a case and drive back with it, but our tax laws prevent too much shopping out of state. The Comptroller doesn't want to lose the tax revenue. Other than that, I like where I live.

Calamity, have you ever had any luck making your own wine??? I'm sure it could be very satisfying, but I don't think my talents compare to the vintners already out there. Maybe some of the locals carry that wine, I just have never looked for it before. I do like the Chambord.

I never tried it glitter, but my grandfather was big in
making his own wine, and it was quite good, I might add.

He lived to be 95 years old and he contributed it all to
the pure wine he made Mr. Green

I'm intrigued. I'm pretty sure I've never had anything Blackcurrant unless perhaps I was unaware that was what I was consuming...?
