@gollum,
What browser do you use? Internet Explorer? Just a heads up, cookies do all sorts of good things as well as taking some of your privacy. You probably won't have as good an internet experience if you delete them.

@gollum,
Method 1: Delete cookies through the setting named "Delete cookies or temporary files".

Step 1: Press Windows Key+F to open the Search bar, enter cookies in the empty box, select Settings and click Delete cookies or temporary files on the result page.

Step 2: As the Internet Properties window opens, check the box before Delete browsing history on exit and tap Delete button.

Step 3: Check the box before Cookies and website data and click Delete to confirm deleting cookies.

Method 2: Delete cookies through deleting browsing history.

Step 1: Open IE, click Tools on the Menu Bar and select Delete browsing history.

Step 2: In the Delete Browsing History window, choose Cookies and website data and click Delete.

@gollum,
If you are using IE then,
Select – delete browsing history and check ‘cookies and other site and plug-in data.’
Cached images and files. Opt clear browsing data. Go to everything select details beneath this and opt cookies and cache. Opt clear now.
If you are using Microsoft edge then,
Click on 3 line hub button, click on history and go to clear browsing history select browsing history, cookies and saved website data and cached data and files.
You can also use the application by downloading for windows 8 for Firefox, IE, Chrome and Microsoft edge

@gollum,
You have to clear the cookies from the browser setting , if you are doing it on any browser and from PC you have to remove the Temp folder which is placed in C:/ drive of your computer.

@gollum,
Why do you want to remove cookies from your computer? It might not have the effect you are looking for.

Thank you.

I was having difficulty with the search function at nytimes.com . The "help person" at that website suggested that I remove cookies.

@gollum,
Select the Tools menu from the Internet Explorer window, and click Delete Browsing History. 2. In the Delete Browsing History window, check the box next to Cookies. You can uncheck everything else if you want to remove only cookies.
