Jeeze from the photos I've seen Christo's new work in Central Park looks like his least interesting work to date.

I think the idea is that you have to walk through it. This one is experienced from the inside not from a distance. That said, I have seen it only in pictures and I doubt I will have the opportunity to go down to New York and experience it.

Just saw a piece on the news - looks real cool. Have to get some of our NYC folks over there to get pictures.

Agreed, they have done better work that the NYC art project.
Then again, they're both up in age and are entitled to
slow down physically and mentally Smile

Yes that was an interesting work. One of my favorites was the giant curtain in Rifle Gap, Colorado. Also the umbrellas located simultaeously in California and Japan. Much earlier he did a series of mock up New York City storefronts that I really like which you hardly ever see in publications on his work. But most of all I like the drawings and maquettes for his proposals.

I must be missing something.

I see wood frames with material hanging down, lining a walkway.

Is that art? I mean, really, is that spectacular art that justifies 20 years in the making and I'm just missing it?
