This is what I originally had to say about it.....
This one is of my very first car. It's engine had been converted from a standard 850cc to a 1200 or thereabouts and had been fitted with twin choke webber carbs. The steering column had been dropped, a tiny rally steering wheel had been fitted, and it had proper rally "bucket" seats. Axle spacers had been put on, to widen the wheel base, and fat tyres had been added.
It all sounds very good, but I must tell you that the thing was full of rust, it conked out when I drove through puddles and the windscreen wipers would only complete three inches of arc, so I had to duck right down in the seat and look out of the bottom edge of the screen when it rained.
However, I can confirm that it IS possible on the back seat of a mini, and I could take the notorious "Dagger Lane" at around 80mph and stay on the road.
I sold it about a year later, when the subframe collapsed.
Yes, we DO drive cars as small as this in the UK.
