Yes, hundreds of trees are being killed as all the ladies are busy cutting patsting and printing the images to put under their pillows tonight.

I was thinking of screen-printing pic # 1 right onto the pillowcase.

I'm still adjusting [ok, it's taking me a long time] to the fact that LordE is just about my age. Disconcerting.

Yes ebeth, I am still that age in my mind, but am now told that I look like a larger, more wrinkly version of an ugly Clint Eastwood. There's no way that I would post a present day photo at this moment in time. I need to lose about twenty pounds and have my face ironed.

So, it's 5am and I've got the wide awakes again, therefore I've got three more pics to post.

This one is of my very first car. It's engine had been converted from a standard 850cc to a 1200 or thereabouts and had been fitted with twin choke webber carbs. The steering column had been dropped, a tiny rally steering wheel had been fitted, and it had proper rally "bucket" seats. Axle spacers had been put on, to widen the wheel base, and fat tyres had been added.
It all sounds very good, but I must tell you that the thing was full of rust, it conked out when I drove through puddles and the windscreen wipers would only complete three inches of arc, so I had to duck right down in the seat and look out of the bottom edge of the screen when it rained.

However, I can confirm that it IS possible on the back seat of a mini, and I could take the notorious "Dagger Lane" at around 80mph and stay on the road.
I sold it about a year later, when the subframe collapsed.

Yes, we DO drive cars as small as this in the UK.

This one is the very first picture I took of my wife (then girlfriend) in about '74. She was 17/18 at the time, and we were on a boat tour of Portsmouth harbour. I remember it like it was yesterday.

....and THIS one is of Mary, the girl who caused a major commotion after a party at my wife's teacher training college.

There was an end of term party, when all the drinks were half price as they had to clear their stocks before the summer recession.

Everyone got blind drunk, and my wife (then gilfriend) and I went back to her room on campus at about 1am to sleep it off. Single bed, tiny room etc.

Anyway, about half an hour later, there was a frantic knocking at the door and it was Mary, who wanted to come in. She had had a row with her boyfriend (Tim, also in picture) and he had locked her out, refusing to open the door. She was tearful, we made coffee and she asked to stay in our room.
In true Ellpus style, I had no inkling what she was intending, and offered to sleep on the floor while the girls slept in the bed.

About three a.m, I was woken by a tongue being inserted down my throat, Mary's hand saying hello to Percy, and my wife/girlfriend shouting "What the ****ing hell is going on?!?"
Mary was all apologetic, and said that she woke up still drunk and thought she was in Tim's room.

Wife/girlfriend didn't believe me for quite a few years, and still gives me that look whenever "Lying in the Arms of Mary" is played on the radio.

We are enjoying a picnic in the photo, taken about a week before I was pleasantly surprised. I forgot we had this photo, I bet the better half soon deletes it.

L to R Tim, Mary, better half......see what I mean about old photos going red?

Plain Jane that she is, she looks like she is very sweet, just proving glamour is not everything.

That was really crappy, Roxanne. You can't keep your disagreement with Lord E to the thread it's about? And not only that, then you say shitty things about his loved ones for some kind of petty revenge. How childish.

Oh, so that's why there are no photos. Can't you at least repost the cars?

Well, I hope not. Fck that, if so.

Ellpus. I stared at my face in the mirror today. Zounds!! I have many more, many many more, and suddenly so, more wrinkles, due apparently to some slow weight loss. Wrinkle City is at my door. What? Me?

If I can have my photo on this damned site you can too. Or can if you aren't being stalked. Good grief.

Roxxxane, I agree with cyphercat: your behavior is quite impertinent,
and I aks you to abstain from coming into this thread again.

Lord Ellpus is one of the loveliest and kindest man on a2k, and
you certainly have no merit to verbally assault him or his family in
this manner.

You definitely owe him an apology.

WTF? Roxxxannne (sp?) needs to lighten up and stop the attacks. What is her agenda?

By the way, I saw the pictures. Very cute and sweet. Nice of you to share, Lord E.
