I am hear to repeat this words:
It's very nice to put faces on nicknames. What's not nice is that I missed some of you.
Oh well.

I might have a newer one if you want it posted
Go on, Husker, I don't mind the aging.
Aren't there pix of fbaezer in the Albuquerque gathering thread? Seems to me I recall swooning.

Oy!, you politicos are not supposed to frequent these threads, you'll never take me seriously again! (Or, well, in your case you may never have taken me wholly seriously in the first place, but I mean - in general! ;-))

lol. Why would I take you less seriously picturing you with blue hair, than I would picturing you as an odd yellow shape?
~~~> Gushing!!
Awwwwwww......I just LUV this thread...lol
Nimh...Great pictures! I love the 94' one!
thanks ebeth that's the one I had
nimh - you keep getting cuterer and cuterer as you age.
Yep! Him and fbaezer too. Lucky men.
Alot of men get better looking the older they get...why is it, us women just get bigger..lol
LOL - and an odd yellow shape calling for revolution, at that ;-)
I was confident then!
Like I said, weird and kinda estranging experience to see these pictures lined back up. I was so happy in the '96 one! And (to just continue the vain intro-spection), the 2001->2002 transition is so dramatic, damn.
I just couldn't wait, and google was my friend.
Haven't checked in for a while and came back to find nimh, fbaezer, and babybear16. Beautiful people.
nimh, I liked the series of pictures. It makes me feel like I know you, sort of. The blue hair at the sink is my favorite. And I get what you mean when you say you feel no connection to those people you used to be. I think that is something that comes with accelerated growth (spiritual, emotional, whatever).
All in all, this is a very interesting thread. I think you all are interesting, and adding faces to the mix makes you even more so.
It is funny, how you can take a picture of yourself, and 10 years later, not recognize yourself and almost completely DISTANCE yourself from the person in the picture...
growth, you said it best Freeduck.. ;-)
There's one picture I have from when I was about 17 -- if I find it, and if I do the nimh/squinney-type series, I'll post it -- that is still painful for me to look at, because the emotions of the time are (to me) written raw on my face. And they weren't good emotions.
I tend to feel kind of tender and protective towards earlier versions of myself, wishing I could have a little confab, tell myself what I needed to hear, offer some reassurance that things really would get better.
But definitely a sense of separateness, this other person.
I liked nimh's progression, too. Here's a brief history of my photos......
1973-ish?
maybe 1985
circa 1993
last summer
Those are too cute!! All of them. Amazing, how, I dunno, grown-up you look already in those in-between pictures. And the eighties one of course is funny cause of how eighties it is. But the last one must be the cutest of all - the little kid too! Thats great. Very cool.
Freeduck/shewolf, funny, you say its "growth" that creates the separation, I feel it as - loss. But anyway, sang that tune enough I s'pose.
