@jespah,
i know this thread is old but to any reading it. saltwater is a terrible idea to pour on your car, it will corrode it very quickly if left on which of course you are not about to wash your car in that cold weather and even then the residue would run down into engine compartment and be a real mess. the alchohol dish soap thing works well, and is cheap or go to auto store and buy a bottle of deicer to add to windshield washer reservoir

Actually the alcohol will be fine on paint, I wouldn't suggest bathing your car in it and letting it sit, but misting your windows with the solution is no big deal. I used to detail cars and we used rubbing alcohol to remove the residue from stickers and road tar on a vehicle. The salt water I wouldn't recommend. The repeated use of salt water will rust the vehicle.

DO you even have the same car?
Ive heard that goose semen mixed with water will serve as an excellent deicer.

all i did
Quart white vinger
Quart amonia
small bottel of nail polish remover
mix with 5 water
i used 5 gallon pickle bucket

All i bought from doller store
