I am currently finishing my basement and wanted some ideas for the ceiling. I have looked into drywall and drop ceilings but was curious if anybody has heard someone spraying their ceiling like they do in some restaurants. The spray is black and kind of chunky looking. Anybody ever used something like that
are you going to be working in your basement? I find basements can tend towards being a bit depressing, and all black would contribute to that for me, instead of making it more liveable/workable.
I've intended to fill the space between floor joists (because I rather like the look of the joists) with white wallboard, but have never gotten around to it. Yes, there are various pipes going here and there, but I could still cover a lot of it.
I'm just about to add the ceiling to my basement renovation as well. I'm going the cheap route. I'm going to be hanging water resistant, flame retardent canvas. It will cover the ugly pipes but still keep them accessable, brighten up the space, and be finished. Quick and easy. Good luck with your project.
