Wow. Price received royalties for that cover? That's true justice but yeah, I'll bet Mr. Burdon was GOOD and pissed.

Well, I just found this page which contradicts what I had read and said before. And my copy(LP) definitely listed Price as the sole writer. Oh well...

Old & In The Way was a bluegrass group that jerry Garcia help put together. William's right. Their version is very poignant although it's at a faster clip. I recommend both CD's by Old & In The Way on Rykodisk

Was just listening to Johnny Cash doing Springsteen's "I'm On Fire. Wow.

Speaking of the Stones. One of their early hits was It's All Over Now originally done by Bobby Womack and the Valentinos. Interesting cover.

William:

Ever hear The Sundays cover of Wild Horses?

Pan:

Tori Amos does a good cover of I'm On Fire, as well as a version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" that you can actually understand.

I've always loved Joni Mitchell's cover of "Water." A duet with Willie Nelson. Don't know who originated it. Maybe it came from an old cowboy movie?

Went into my juke box and listened to Baker Street. Agreed, Foo Fighters lovingly recreate this tune but then I listened to them totally send up Tiny Dancer in a live recording. Hilarious

I've got Tori doing 5 live covers and honestly someone load my pistol. That music box piano and angst-ridden voice makes me want to exit...stage left

I'm searching for Water but the p2p gods are angry at the moment.

The late Eva Cassidy did a lot of covers fairly well.Listening to her do:

Ain't No Sunshine

Natural Woman

Bridge Over Troubled Water

Early Morning Rain

Fields Of Gold-Sting's song at its best

I didn't read through the thread, but I like the Ramone's tribute album.

Others(some chick music)
-Angie, by Tori Amos.
-Wild Horses, by Mazzy Star.
-Anarchy in the UK by Megadeth(used to highely dig that, haven't heard it in years).
-Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, Pearl Jam, on a live bootleg I have.
