Blackadder had its moments.

@coluber2001,
Upstar Crow is very much in the spirit of Blackadder. Penned by Ben Elton it's a comic imagining of the life of Shakespeare.

I recently watched a couple of episodes of Columbo. What a disappointment. The character was a wonderful concoction. The show, not so much.

@Roberta,
Peter Falk was genius in that role......but I know what you mean, the rest of the writing/acting didn't measure up to his performance. I still watch it now and again when it shows up on tv. It's worth it just to watch him wring every drop out of a scene.

@glitterbag,
Monk was another great personality-centered crime show. All the ups and downs of a phobic, obsessive/compulsive, neurotic crime-solving genius.

@coluber2001,
+1 for Monk. Especially once Natalie got on board.

I also loved Tony Schalub on Braindead. It was a great show, another great acting job. I was upset when they canceled it after one season (still worth watching, and the wrap up the story arc well).

@coluber2001,
Tony Shaloub is fantastic in everything. He plays the father in 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" or maybe it's magnificent mrs. maisel. My husband and I couldn't stop watching the show, fantastic replication of the time period with the clothing and all the female foibles that used to seem so important. It was so funny, and so entertaining.

I still watch Monk reruns when I can....and love his character in "Men in Black".

I saw episode 1 of season 3 of Versailles last night. It's been exceptionally good throughout.

@izzythepush,
I don't think Versailles is showing over here, but it looks fascinating. We don't get the really fabulous BBC shows until it's been shown in GB. Hopefully it will start up here later in the year.

@glitterbag,
It's probably on Netflix. It's one of those joint productions, a lot of Canadian and French money involved as well.
