Joanne/Dyslexia, Richard Farina has, IMO, has the best title for a book that ever existed - "Been Down So Long It Seems Like Up to Me" - I place him with James Dean and others, cut down in the prime.

House Un-American Blues Activity Dream
I was standing on the sidewalk, had a noise in my head.
There were loudspeakers babbling, but nothing was said.
There were twenty-seven companies of female Marines.
There were presidential candidates in new Levis jeans.
It was the red, white and blue planning how to endure.
The fife, drum and bugle marching down on the poor.
God blessed America, without any doubt.
And I figured it was time to get out.
Well I actively blended between scenes, good people.
When in doubt, a dawn in the sun, good people.
Tourist information said to get on the stick.
You ain't moving 'til you're grooving with a Cubana chick.
So I hopped on a plane, I took a pill for my brain,
and I discovered I was feeling alright.
When I strolled down the Prado, people looked at me wierd.
Who's that hippy, hoppy character without any beard?
Drinking juice from papayas, singing songs to the trees.
Dancing mambo on the beaches, spreading social disease.
Now the Castro convertible was changing the style,
a whole lot of action on a blockaded isle.
When along come a summons in the middle of night,
saying, "Buddy, we're about to indict."
Well, I went up on the stand with my hand, good people.
You've got to tell the truth, in the blue, good people.
I started out with information kind of remote.
When a patriotic mother dragged me down by the throat. "
When they ask you a question, they expect a reply!"
Doesn't matter if your fixin' to die.
I was lying there unconscious feeling kind of exempt.
When the judge said that silence was a kind of contempt.
He took out is gavel, banged me hard on the head.
He fined me ten years in prison, and a whole lot of bread.
It was the red, white and blue making war on the poor.
Lying mother justice, on a pile of manure.
Say your prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance every night.
And tomorrow, you'll be feeling alright.

What does that mean?

Existing peacefully together.
One turns out two, two turn out everything.

I still don't see how that relates to the point that I made.

jamespetts..
"One" is the existence itself, and "two" is the differentiation among the existence, e.g., consciousness and physical world, and "everything" is the whole differentiation among the existence.

Actually this is the thought taken from Lao-zi (ancient china), and I am not necessarily a taoist in the strict sense, but the concepts seem very plausible for me.

Satt:

How does the "differentiation" differ from the "whole differentiation"? And how does any of this relate to the topic at hand?

You can tell a bolder from a flower. This is "everything." If you think your mind is different from yor body, it is "two." If you are the existence itself you are "one."

I enjoy ALL your comments, my fellow A2K members.
I just love these "chicken or egg" kind of conversations.
Without those tiny little bones of the ear, & the tympanic
membrane & yada yada yada ... would the sound be made
if it were never heard? Is the sound a sound, a being or a
thing, in its own right?? Or is it merely the perception of a
large group of humanoid-like-beings who may or may not
be encased in an object which is perceived to be A BODY,
or on the other hand - could it be that all these "body like
things" are merely the thoughts of ego projections - faintly
attempting to assert the concept of independence from the
whole, of which they are actually but a miniscule part?????
I like to think of walking into a forest as much as I enjoy
actually walking in a forest. I especially enjoy my dreams
about walking in forests, although my favorite dream of all
time was about flying through a forest. It was like heaven.
My 6 year old grandson and I have been talking & planning
for months now -about going to the Smoky Mtns & spending
a minimum of a week there in the forests. I'd like to stay all
summer long - it's too hot in Florida. So I agree with you,
Codeberg that walking off into the forest is definitively my
idea of heaven.

If a tree falls in the forest, and you're deaf, do you get out of the way?

babs, et al;

Try this one:

Here we are (decidedly NOT "hear" we are) tapping away on our little keyboards, that not only make no actual impressions on solid paper, but create not a whisper of sound into the "ether".

But by this "magic" we remotely display to unseen, unmet, unknown (somewhat), others, who may, or may not be seated stoically before their "windows" on the "virtual forest" of A2K. Bringing to them untold wisdom which they otherwise would completely miss, were they not to occasionaly go wandering in the A2K woods relishing in the sundry jems hanging from the stately firs, oaks, and pines; and the "slings and arrows" lying ambush beneath the rotting hulks of the fallen (however silently) casualties of wind, drought, and simple age.

If an "idea" falls in the A2K forest, and there is no one to read it, does it hang in the ether for later consumption, or melt into the air like "tears in the rain"?

BoGo, We all know that thousands frequent A2K regularly. As for the unseen, unmet, unknown, are no longer truisms, because many A2K Gatherings are planned and taken place. As for the "untold wisdom," I'm not sure how many of us are capable of absorbing all this "untold wisdom." You can drag a horse to water, but........ you know how the saying goes. LOL Wink c.i.
