Re the qm2 photos.

I don't even know the person who took them. I'll have a think about it.

They're on my work machine - so I'll have another look at them on Monday. At present I'm in Kiama, on the coast just south of Sydney, and it's bloody lovely here - just a tad humid. I may be forced to have a swim later. The surf looks great!

G'day Lezzles - hope you're on the improve!
spare a thought for hamburger he's not surfin but suffrin with highs of minus 10 see weather or not.

Yep - just had a look at the hamburger situation.

How do they cope with that cold? I've never experienced anything like it! As far as I'm concerned, it's cold if you have to wear long sleeves! Confused

Holy ****! 6000th post Embarrassed

Hey margo and msolga, you obviously haven't visited 'beyond the black stump' yet. Sydney or Melbourne are no comparison compared to my little piece of Eden on earth. Smile

Well, you will be provocative, Ditchy! Razz

But I gotta run now. Otherwise I could make mincemeat of you, no sweat!

Gotta get my eyebrows waxed. Shocked
That's the sort of thing we do, in Melbourne! Laughing

Hi msolga, you're the best looking sheila I've seen all day.
My little piece of Eden is near here, where the King George Whiting are always biting, and the crayfish and prawns form the basics of my existence. Smile

How long have you lived & worked in this haven, Dutchy?

Do tell us more, when you have the time.

I believe so, margo.

When Dutchy returns I'm sure he'll fill us in.

Lovely looking place, eh?

Hi msolga & margo. Pleased you like the place, I'd thought you might have guessed it, because I mentioned it on another thread sometime ago. Dutchy is retired and spend much of his leisure time fishing at this lovely spot which is called Port Lincoln on the tip of Eyre Peninsula. "Beyond the Black Stump" is really near here but not my place of abode. I was merely comparing my favourite SA town with Melbourne and Sydney because I feel each State has its own beautiful spots.

That's true.

I'm down here as we speak - you can see my mate Mark's apartment in the pic. It's the building next door to the long flat one near the water's edge in the middle of the picture.

Gosh!

That's beautiful!

I came here to ask an Oz question. Do you guys have mandatory vaccines? Like, kids have to get them before they can start school, that sort of thing?

Hi Sozobe

Our kids have grown up, but my wife tells me it was compulsory to have the boys vaccinated against 'mumps' and the girls against 'rubella', presumably this is still the case today. Perhaps one of our lady members may know a little more.

Thanks Dutchy.

Here's what I'm trying to figure out, maybe someone here can help. The Gov of Texas just issued some order that requires that girls entering 6th (?) grade need to have the HPV vaccine. I see that John Howard is putting it on some PBS (?) list, but I don't quite know what that means. Is it now required, or is it just that people can get a government subsidy?

Thanks, anyone who can take a stab at that one!
