@Izzie,
I just found your earlier post, Iz. How did I miss it this morning? Confused

Quote:
... it is a fantastic game - ooooooooooooh... can't begin to describe the excitement watching the game - tremendous skill, power and strength and on the whole, good sportsmanship - gentlemanly - tho on the pict can be quite hard to watch at times - brutes... BRUTES... and lots of cauliflower ears!

OK, listening, listening ... somewhat sceptically, but listening ....
So it's a gentlemanly game with lots of violence thrown in? Razz

Quote:
Jonny... oh my Jonny <sigh>

and Joost van der Westhuizen (SA) <sighs again> - tho he went a little errrrrrr.... off the rails when he stopped playing!

Who are these people, Iz? You're going to have to post pictures!

In Oz they tend to be short & sorta stumpy, with thickish necks. (And they fall over a lot, on top of each other, in packs. They don't appear to do much else on the field. Confused ) Oz Rules players look like Greek gods by comparison. Smile

I will go off to that Wikipedia link & read the rules now, Iz.

Honestly, if it was anyone else who'd posted this I'd think they were having me on! Wink

Front page of the Hun (Herald-Sun) this afternoon.
No one seems to be able to talk about anything else in this city.
It's all getting to be a bit much! Shocked :

@msolga,
I'm going to have to turn off 774 (local ABC radio) soon, I think.:

Libby Gore (broadcasting from St Kilda, wearing St Kilda colours), talking to Alex Jesalenko & Father Bob McGuire, who's singing: "God & Collingwood foreverrrrrrrr!" with great gusto. Surprised

It's all getting a bit much. How much football talk can this city take?
I wanna know about the speaker in federal parliament!

Go maggies!!!!! Razz

You're there already, margo?! Surprised
Jeez, and you're missing out on all the fun today! What shockingly bad timing! Wink

Haha, I remember that! You "obligingly" (sort of! ) accompanied your Collingwood-obsessed aunt. Then complained about Melbourne weather for months & months afterwards! What were you expecting of Melbourne in September, the tropics? Wink

(You mentioned, a while back, that your aunt was very ill. How is she going now? )

So, are you going to post about your travels, then? I'd love to hear more!
