I my humble opinion $3.50 works out to about 2.10 Pounds.

What did you expect msolga? Laughing

Dang, Dutchy you did get the irony of my exchange rate joke at all! Are you applying for a green card or sumpin?

Olgs, found this in the Fitz files this morning:
Quote:
THE PIES

As the AFL grand final approaches, so too do the jokes warm up. I return from Melbourne this week with the following … you know you're a Collingwood supporter when:

1. A Halloween pumpkin has more teeth than your wife does.

2. You've been married three times and still have the same in-laws.

3. You wonder how service stations keep their restrooms so clean.

4. Someone in your family once died right after saying: ''Hey, watch this.''

5. You think the last words of Advance Australia Fair are: ''Carn the Maggies.''

6. You think ''loaded dishwasher'' means your wife is drunk.

7. Your toilet paper has page numbers on it.

8. Your front veranda collapses and kills more than five dogs.

@hingehead,
That was an extremely thoughtless & insensitive post, hinge.
Sometimes you disappoint me.
If only you knew how deeply such comments can hurt a maggie supporter! Sad

psst: let you in on a little secret. This insane magpie obsession was a actually thing of my childhood & adolescence. It was very real then. (the number of times I cried myself to sleep after yet another final victory only just escaped us! God, it was awful! The pain!)
But I'm over it now. Well most of the time, anyway. Odd then, how yet another Collingwood final or grand final sort of makes me regress. Like a compulsion, an affliction, almost. Like on last Friday night. Go maggies!!! Razz

@msolga,
Good morning msolga, so sorry you feel hurt by hingeheads post, I will never go so low, particularly if it involves a lady as charming as you. Laughing I do wish the Maggies well but the Saints won't be a walkover! I won't be present but have given my tickets to my son and his wife who'll fly over on Friday, I'm landed with the three grand kids. Laughing Go the Maggies!!!

@Dutchy,
What a generous gift, Dutchy!
There are Collingwood supporters who'd sell their mothers for those tickets, you know! Wink

I'm very pleased to see you've chosen the right side to support this time. Excellent judgment on your part!

Yes, hinge's comments were most hurtful. I'm certain I'll forgive him eventually, but it may take some time to heal this rift. <sniff>

All this shooting the messenger! Clearly as a Rugby League person I've crossed some unseen line known only to the strange tribes of the antarctic states!

I note with interest that the Saints only other prem win was 40+ years ago was a one-pointer, against the wobbles!

I've had some dear friends who were wobblies, and I never held it against them. Eddie Maguire on the other hand....

@hingehead,
As an Officer and a Gentleman you could have at least offered your apologies to dear msolga, and don't bring Rugby in as an excuse, that game is unknown in the civilised Southern States! Smile

@hingehead,
Are you really a serious Rugby League person, hinge, or just a pretend one, for the purposes of a jolly good dust up on this thread? Smile
I figure you must be pretending. The players seem to spend most of their time with their heads together in tight little circles (planning strategies?)... then, when the ball finally gets out on the field, everyone falls on it at once. What's the excitement in that, I ask you? Wink

You'll have to explain how a Rugby League game actually works one day. It's all rather mysterious to us folk in the south of the continent. Really.
But it's OK, mate, don't take this personally, or anything ...

This weekend's AFL grand final in Melbourne will be class warfare. The up-themselves, trendy bistro/bar hanger-outers of St Kilda, against the salt of the earth, true blue proletarian Collingwood folk. I don't have to tell you which side I'm on, do I? Up the workers! Go, maggies! Razz
