Thank you for the photos, Lola and Joe - great group in a great place.

McTag, have you got them in your computer by disc or scanning?

Sign up for photobucket.com, or imageshack.com... imageshack is the one JoeNation used above, and I and some others use photobucket.

That site will walk you through starting a folder of photos there, and the images from there are then transferable to a2k because they will have an internet url and be sized to be ok here.

Once an image is on a transfer site like that, CUT the url of the photo image --

go to a2k, click on post reply, click on Image button, and
PASTE the URL of the image there.

Press preview button to check if it worked, and assuming it does, click submit.

Thanks, Osso, I'll give it a go. It's the re-sizing of files which worries me, most of my pics are too big, but maybe the site will cope easily with that.

On Imageshack they give you code for thumbnails for forums. I just cut and paste it directly into the reply box.

Any photo already on the web can be posted by just right clicking on it, then clicking on Properties and Copying the jibberish that ends in .jpg, then on A2K click on the IMG box, paste in the jibberish and Voila!!

There you are.

Goody! I think I can probably cope now.

I can only work with pics during the week because my home computer is no good.
My pics are on my work machine.

I'll have a try next week (in a quiet moment)

I thought you said this was easy? Sheesh.

Anyway, there you go. Loch Duich, western Scotland, October '03

So what has that got to do with New York, some may be asking? Good question, just got carried along with all the excellent foto-handling advice from you helpful folks.

Wow, great picture, McTag. I'm going to make it my new wallpaper! I wish I were there, but seeing it every day will have to do.

Thank you, it's a nice subject on a sunny day.

Sorry about the gravel path in the foreground, but maybe you can deal with that.

The mountains in the background are part of the Isle of Skye.

I was going to buy my bus ticket today, but the local road crew was paving the road in front of the travel agency and the travel agency had decided to accept the inevitable and close.

I'll be arriving in NYC Tuesday, August 9 and leaving Friday, August 12.

Hope to connect with Phoenix and the rest of you at some point.

I'm quivering with anticipation.

Be careful with that quivering, Noddy. We're mostly sicko's out here.

I spoke with Noddy this evening. We are getting together on Tuesday the 9th..............will be bopping around the Metropolitan Museum. For those of you who work, is Tuesday night a good time for everybody to get together? Can any of you make it to the museum during the day?

Frank- It will be my pleasure to sink to the depths of depravity with all of you. Yah hah! Laughing

Actually...the 8th and the 10th...or any day other than the 9th works better for me.

The 9th is my birthday...and I really want to have dinner with Nancy on that day.

Well, Phoenix. At least you won't be confronted with a whirl wind. (excepting Frank, of course)

Ah, look at that. Frank still loves his lady, or is it that Nancy has a surprise for him. Razz

I won't be in town on Monday, but I can crash the Thursday gathering--or not. Flexibility is all.

Happy Birthday, Frank. You're the sort of celebrant who would be decadent with chocolate icing and drizzled brandy.
