funny story about chopped liver.......

My brother in law, who is a real gourmet whipped up a batch of pate to go with the champagne for a Christmas dinner one year. My daughter, aged 4 at the time, took one look at it and said, "Oh no, not do do!"

It's true Osso, no chopped liver.........but we do inspire each other, well acknowledged, y'all.

Last night, I cooked dinner. We didn't have much ham left and neither of us wanted to go to the grocery, even if it is only down the elevator and around the corner..........so I made grilled cheese sandwiches with a little ham surprise, marinated chilled, sliced tomatoes with shallots and tarragon, and fresh peach slices, peeled. The wine was very cold and later, out on the balcony, while I finished up the the wine, Bernie had beer. Another good evening in the Big Apple.

Y'all come sometime.

Even through adolescence, that zesty period of carnivorous and predatory appetites, liver and I remained at arm's length.

I am going to be in Manhattan in August. I will be free as a breeze on Monday the 8th in the evening, all day and evening Tuesday the 9th, and late afternoon and evening on Wednesday the 10th.

If anyone is interested in getting together, please PM me.

Phoenix....I wouldn't miss the chance to meet with you. I will make myself available at least one of those days (or evenings)...and I'm sure several others of the New York contingent will be there also.

I will PM you at some point.

The regulars should check in on this.

Joe, Lola, Kicky, Blatham, HofT...and anyone else from the area or also visiting from the hinterlands.

That would be super!

And even if it becomes impossible to coordinate your visit with Phoenix's...we will get together.

Just found this -- there's a 90% probability (or as Frank would put it, I just don't know and I'm guessing) that I'll be on a business trip to San Francisco during the first week of August. I'll try to insert a few days in New York on my way home. Please PM me about any schedules, changes of plans, and things like that, as I'll be checking in to A2K very sporadically until the end of July. (PMs make sure I get a notice in my E-mail inbox.)

Is there any chance of keeping Frank Apisa in the dark about this? Blatham and I kept him out of the loop the last time I visited New York, and it would be fun to continue doing so. Wink

I recommend a diversionary tactic..."Hey, look over there, it's Frescoe!"

Bad boys! Frank, you should spit on them.......or maybe you can think of another, naughtier thing.

I'll be here until August 14, so it looks like I'll be around for your visit Phoenix. That'll be fun. It looks like my daughter will be moving to New York in August. Everyone keep your fingers crossed. yippee! So I'm not sure what complications that will bring. But as far as I know, I'll be here for sure.

Thomas, I hope you'll make it to New York before we leave on the 14th. I missed you last time. I don't want to do it again.

Everytime this thread updates, I think I'm going back to New York.

<puzzled look>

But I'm not.

Yet.
