Lucky for me I'm already on Bleecker...

Maybe to assure myself of being there at opening I will camp out in Washington Square Park...(save a few steps).

i used to work at 65 Bleecker -- about a hop, skip and a jump from CBGB's...

CONGRATULATIONS! Very Happy

I'm already working on my wedding speech. Do I understand American customs right? I'm supposed to stand up and give it when Mr. Bloomberg says: "If anyone knows a reason why these two should not marry, speak ye now or forever hold your peace" ....

CBGB
narrow little alley
shrieks and dreams
'cept when Bryne or Blondie creamed them
then
the stinky air bent
around each note
and floated us.

cbgb
country bluegrass blues
who knew?
No covers
the ramones or Patti
could drive all night
on a single D chord flatted fifth.

cbgb
shuttered now
we walk past it's empty eyes
Wait..
Was that a dance move?

Phoenix--

Neither of us have ever been The Mother of the Bride.

Do you suppose we could shanghai Lola's plans?

Phoenix--

Are the two of us enough or do we need reinforcements? Lola is a strong-willed woman (and marrying on her own turf).

Are there any other volunteers?

I'm not so sure I'd like to be mother-of-the-bride. Mother-of-the-Mennonite-groom, perhaps.

I'm learning how to roast a duck - that's sort of Mennonite-y, isn't it?

Only if garnished with the eyeballs of a Baptist. Any Baptist will do.

EhBeth--

Grooms have mothers, too. The Conventional Groom's Mother should be a woman of Great Restraint, but considering that you're a volunteer, Bernie is just going to have to use his own Great Restraint.

Restraints Shocked

I don't think I'm ready for any of this.

I'll just pack a simple hat.
