I'm still kind of miffed that you flee New York before I arrive. Nevertheless, have a good trip!

If I'm still in Europe then, consider it booked.

Yes, I'll be in town then. I never leave town in October (post-season baseball, doncha know).

Coffee or tea would be delightful. Your chocolate tour may actually come within a block or so of my office, if you go to

Jacques Torres Chocolate

(and you'd be mad if you don't).

blatham,

Thanks, I'll be in town on Nov. 7, but unfortunately I have theater plans that night. I hate to miss your thigh-ding, but maybe some other time ...

ehBeth--

Mistress Noddy (or Dotty, as E continues to refer to you, and she does - as one of her New York friends) - please add some concrete to the mix!

Dotty? Daftie? Tell E. "Hello" in any case.

Family plans are fluid and my hostess is unusually disorganized. I am a helpless pawn of fate, a woman beset by uncertainty, a wisp of straw wafted by proverbial winds.

Mac--

Plan a spring visit now? Of course. Planning is half the fun.

The kid declared yesterday that we HAD to go to New York City. No particular reason, it's just a cool place and neither of us have been there and we have to go.

I told her I'd look into it. We have family there on two sides who have issued standing invitations, and plenty of cool A2K'ers to meet, and it's not so far as all that. We'll see.

McTag: you will not need any additional information.

Merely make your way to the baggage claim at whatever airport your airline serves and get your luggage. Follow the signs that say "Taxis", stand in the long line of people next to the longer line of taxis, when it is your turn get it and tell the driver you want to go Bernie's.

That should take care of it.

Walter - you'd be in so much trouble for teasing me ... if I didn't hope to follow those Canajun visitors sometime

<whistling>

Dag - over here! I'll be in New York from October 12 - 16th. Come in for the 14th or 15th? I'll be at Seafarer's again - I can get a cot for you.

Hmmm, not unthinkable. I am long overdue for a NYC visit. October 14-15? I'll look into that.

At this point an October visit looks very unlikely--but November is possible.

Life is not always ideal, but problems come in clearly marked sizes. Perspective is all.
