I think this show is pretty funny.
I got the 1st seaon DVD for christmas, and although I had never heard of it, I found it hilarious, especially Latka the foreign mechanic (Andy Kaufman). Has anyone seen this show, and if so, did you like it as much as me?
It's a classic.
Welcome to A2K.
Oh yeah, Taxi was awesome, and Andy Kaufman a comedic genius in his own right. He originally didn't want to to do the show, but the scripts were good enough that the producers convinced him. He was a complicated guy. You might want to check out Man On the Moon, with Jim Carrey playing Andy.

yeah, ive seen parts of that movie, and i also read that he hated sitcoms. He really thought of them as one of the lowest forms of entertainment. i think he died young, too.
I'll try too see the rest of that movie.
@ticomaya: thx
You know what they say... "World Famous in Poland!"
(Now, how 'bout that Bob Zmuda character?)
Oh my god, Taxi is a great show! Louie DiPalma, Reverend Jim, and Latka are three of the funniest characters on any sitcom, ever. What other show has three clasic characters like that, besides Seinfeld? Enjoy!
Seinfeld is great, too. Kramer makes me laugh just by showing up on the screen. Those two shows would by far come in as my favorite sitcoms, and many of the sitcoms on the air today are usually not worth watching. The storylines are weak, the acting is mediocre, and the almost constant commercials and plot "fluff" overshadow the one or two good jokes of the show. (Its great seeing the episodes with no commericials on the dvds!)
A new show that I enjoy is Monk. Great writing, actors and editing.
