what is the reason behind a non significant p-value while there is a high difference between the 2 medians of 2 groups . (given that we are using Mann Whiteny test)
The medians are irrelevent because the raw scores are irrelevent. The test is based on testing the correspondence of order of pairs of results, not the raw scores which could be of a very different nature. ...e.g. 'height' and 'salary'.

CORRECTION.
The data cannot be of a different nature, but the medians are irrelevent because they do not reflect the dispersion of the separate treatments.
