name of 1990s cop show?

Hi all,
This may be a bit obscure but I'm trying desperately to remember the name of a cop show from some time between 1992 and 1995. In part of one series the characters went around various stops in the South Pacific, including one episode set (and shot) in New Zealand, which revolved around an assassination attempt on the US Vice President. If you can remember the name of this show, it'd be a great help, thanks!
